Hi All,
I am trying to find out what happened to my Grandfather's brother Andrew Campbell. He was born in Greenock, Renfrewshire in May 1875 (1876 according to the census in the USA) . He left and went to the USA and the next record I can find is his Marriage to Elizabeth Malcolm on 2nd June 1899 in Bronx New York. In the 1900 census they are living in Philadelphia and have a son Harold b April 1900. That is the last record that I can find of them. Surely they cannot disappear into thin air?
How would I find a social security number for any one of them?
Andrew had another brother who went to Canada-- Archibald Campbell, and he settled in Calgary. I have managed to find out quite a bit about him and his offspring, but there seems to be no record of Andrew having gone to join Archibald.
Any assistance will be appreciated, as I am in South Africa and it is very difficult for me to try and get info from the USA.
Kind regards
Liz Langmann
Cape Town, South Africa
