Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
When I lived in NY, they would send a group of 'inmates' out with someone
from the jail- on a good day- they'd cut down bush, small trees, etc- clean
up around the headstones, so you could see them better. Many's the 'hole' I

As a certified country bumpkin, living in the rural South, I have a
little experience in the maintaining and reclaiming of old burial
grounds. We have used Crossbow and Remedy and a couple of other
selective herbicides. The easiest thing to do is spray the briers and
small shrubs and after they die off, clean up what ever else you want to
be rid of. Get the local Co op "expert" to aid in what is legal and
effective in the location that you are cleaning. Using Roundup only
opens the door to things you might not want to try and control later.
Most areas require a licensed applicator if you pay to have it done.
Just get someone to do it without charging and you will be in good
shape. The woody plants should have been sprayed just before the first
frost for best results but you can get some control if you spray after
all the leaves are fully emerged. Once you clear out the ones you want
gone, fertilize and introduce the plants that you want to take over.

Hi: I don't find it so unusual to think goats could clean up the cemetery.
We in California have lots of brush on the hills and so they hire a
shepherd, with his sheep, to stay on the property as long as it takes for
the sheep to clean up the brush. The shepherd and his dog stay on the
property night and day. He brings a tent or a little structure to live in.

probably in my notes somewhere.

Cousins, someone must have a Campbell or three who passed thru Pennsylvania during and after the American Revolution! I am looking for a connection of Mary Campbell born circa 1758, mabe in PA mabe in the ole country, who marries a Captain Samuel Elliott probably in Allentown, Northampton Co., PA. Was her father Capt Patrick Campbell or possibly a Capt Robert Campbell?

Mr. Bryson, I have a Campbell family line from Christian Co. KY. John
Campbell died in 1805. His daugher Catherine married Samuel Bradley in
Christian Co. in 1800. I am trying to find parents of John and where he lived
