Mickey in Illinois,
I think it is great that you can trace that far back. I think it would be
great if everyone on earth had a DNA test and a database could be put together
so that we know where we all started.
I can't get past some of my ancestors born in the early 1800's -- some I
think may have changed their names when they came here from Germany, France,
Scotland, and wherever else.
My great great grandfather spelled his name Wilking and claimed Germany - but
never told anyone anything about his family. His wife claimed French Saladee
- but can't find where her father or grandfather are buried or anything other
than their names in the census records.
My ex-mother-in-law never knew anything about her dad - Chester Walter
Campbell suppose to be born Mar 5 1892 in Delaware Co., Ind -- can't find anything
on him except in the census records. She died not knowing what happened to
him - the family was together in 1920 but after that she didn't remember when he
left. I know she knows where he is now, but I would like to know.
Anyway... keep up the good work.

For your information I WAS NOT trying to prove anything. My cousin was only trying to find where we came from. That is what she found. If you are so upset over it maybe you should take a deep breath and a cold shower. I am also a historian and happen to be proud of the fact of where I came from and who I am. I cannot say that about anyone else. If that upsets one fine. That is not mine nor anyone else's intention. Get a life.
We tell what we have to help folks, maybe someone can use what we have..simple as that.

Dear All,
To those who are hoping to establish that they are descended from the
kings of Scotland I should point out that their line of ancestry back
at about 1400 would consist of rather more than a million persons. It
is true to say we are all related to everyone else. I would suggest
they take a deep breath have a cold shower and get on with some real
genealogy.

This is an interesting topic. If only I had the funding. Being disabled with a neurological disorder, and being ill lately and behind on reading, I hadn't read my email, just found this.
I have blood of Campbell of Argyll. MacDonald..Dad's side..
Mom's..King Robert.I..House of Stuart..we go all the way back to Flaald( I am tired and forgot how to spell his name. That might be right.) He was a High Sheriff in Wales. Yes, we have Charles Stuart's blood, and Lord Lauderdale, Looney..
Only getting 623.00 a month hampers the DNA test prices..plus I always wanted to see about the Cherokee side, as Mom and Dad both have Eastern Cherokee. Go back to same tribe..very odd.
And through the MacDonald's..we have O'Neill blood..The Druid King O'Neill. A mess, I say. I always say isn't genealogy fun?

And yes, my cousin spent nearly 40 years and many thousands of dollars and trips to document her research on the Scottish ancestry.

Hi,
Thanks. I only entered the DNA discussion that was started by someone else.
I have my Agnew documentation with complete citations back to whenever.
The Agnew's of Lochnaw have complete Peerage documentation.
I have all anyone cold need on that side of my family and my Campbell
ancestors are on that side of the family. I have very good Robbins information
back into the early 1700's. I wish that I had more.
Robert earlier mentioned that we need to focus on true Genealogy. I have
about as good research on that as one can have on the one side and wish I could
connect the Robbins side to wherever my group came from. I may use DNA one
day.
I will add more to the discussion on Agnew, Kings of Scotland, Campbell
connection later. Most Campbell's are connected to these kings and especially
Robert I Bruce as direct descendents. I have the citations to prove that and
no DNA is needed.

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Duncan CAMPBELL which was taken at the
Dusseau & Thomson Studio in Butte, Montana. The photograph appears to have
been taken in the 1890's with Duncan likely in his 30's at the time it was
taken.
Based on limited research I was able to locate a possible match in the 1900
census of Butte, MT:
Duncan CAMPBELL, age 34, born Oct 1865, born Canada, parents born Canada, a
Mill Man
Matthew CAMPBELL, boarder, age 38, born Dec 1861, born Canada, parents born
Canada/Scotland, a Laborer
R. A. CAMPBELL, boarder, age 28, born Sept 1871, born Canada, parents born
Canada, a Laborer
Dancan A. CAMPBELL, boarder, age 32, born Feb 1868, born Canada, parents
born Canada, a Smelterman
I'm guessing that all four men are related in some manner, however, I've no
idea how. I'm hoping to locate someone from his family so that this
wonderful old photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member
of this CAMPBELL Family, or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
