Hi! Right now I have one Campbell I'm working on - my great-great-grandmother Alicia Campbell who married John Wilson on 11 Mar 1834 somewhere in Ireland. I think it was probably around Newry because their firstborn, John Kinley Wilson, was born on 17 Jan 1835. The family moved around Ireland and landed in Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill Co., Pennsylvania between 1847-1849. Right now I'm trying to find a death record for Alicia Campbell...

Mary Campbell
I see that the family would have come to England. My mother was born in
Portsmouth England in 1904. My grandfather was in the military at the
time. His name was John Hogbin and he was born on the south coast of
England. This information wont help unless you can find something or
someone who might have a clue. Good luck looking for your ancestors.

I am looking for a look up from "Earliest Campbell Families of Maine," L. A.
Campbell. Specifically, I'd like to know if the following Campbell is lis
ted. He is William Campbell, born ~ 1718 in Londonderry, Ulster, Ireland. He
was son of James Campbell and Jane Humphrey, who emigrated from Ireland
~1728, first landing at Boston, then settled Londonderry N.H. According to
Cleaveland Campbell manuscript from 1861, whole family reportedly moved to Cherry
Valley, N.Y., about 1741/2, but William left about 1745. First, he went back
to Londonderry, then on to Falmouth, Maine, where he died. I don't know his
wife's name. According to Angelo Campbell Pickett research from 1940's, he
had at least two sons: Alexander (b. ~1741) and William (b. ~1743). Thank you
for help in advance for your help. My e-mail is _paulcampbellnj(a)aol.com_
(mailto:paulcampbellnj@aol.com) if someone wants to contact me. Paul
Still searching for John (b:1727) and James (b:1724) Campbell of Scotland who "migrated" to Massachusetts about 1734 with their father John or William Campbell and wife Hannah. Both brothers served in The Revolution. Moved to Kingsbury/Adamsville, Washington County, New Tork late 1700's. You can "google" Old Adamsville cemeteries and find many of their graves. A descendant of James and I matched in the Campbell DNA Project. Common ancestor was born over 300 years ago!
Happy Christmas!

Is anyone tracing the Mitchell family? I have Mary Mitchell marrying Charles
Campbell and Elizabeth Mitchell marrying William Johnston. Both Mary and
Elizabeth are born about 1816. Charles and Mary were married Mar 12, 1838 in
Bathurst but moved to Johnston's Corners and William and Elizabeth were married
Oct 19, 1837 in Bytown. I don't know if Bathurst and Gloucester are close to
each other, but Elizabeth could have been living with her sister.
My question is whether Mary and Elizabeth are sisters. Does anyone know?
Thanks
Peggy

Dear Kara,
I am not sure if there was supposed to be an attachment or not, but I could
not find any message other than "This is not my Charles but I hope it this
helps someone". Probably attachments are not allowed so there wasn't one.
You can reach me at p&rgordon(a)telus.net or peggyc2sky(a)yahoo.com if you have
an attachment. I already had the date of Charles and Mary's marriage, given
in my posted message.
Thank you so much for trying.

Hi,
I believe my Campbells were in Fayette, Wayne and Madison Counties Indiana
before the 1840 Census but have not been able to prove they were there before
the 1850 census.
In 1850 John W. Campbell is living next door to his sister Jane (Campbell)
Allen and not far from his sister Mary (Campbell) Thomas in Van Buren, Madison
Co. IN. Abraham Campbell who is not a proven sibling married Sept 1838, Fayette
Co. IN., Catherine Westerfield and is living in Boone, Madison Co. IN in the
1850 Census.
Mary and her husband James R. Thomas left Madison County and are found again
in the 1850 Census taken in Nov 1850 in Edgar Co. IL. Soon after they settled
in Logan Co. IL.
John Campbell and his wife Susannah "Susan" (Williamson) Campbell moved to
Ringgold Co. Iowa and are there in time for the 1860 Census. The census shows
some Campbells from Wisconsin, but I have found no connection yet.
I would be happy to send what I have if any of you who have written would
like them.
