W. O. Gillean found John Gillean on the 1880 Soundex [big difference] but when he went to the actual census he couldn't find the page, then he went to Ft. Worth and had no luck. Ancestry now notifies when they reup so you can refuse. I am going to call godfrey today and reup with them. Did I send you their reminder to me? It's only $35.00 for a year and they have lots of stuff.

We are looking for information on John and Nancy Campbell. According to
the Independence Co. 1850 Mortality schedule, John was born in
Tennessee. They owned land in St. Francis and in Independence
Counties. Nancy passed away in 1852. They left Sarah A., Rebecca, and
John H..
Sarah A. married James Jones shortly after Nancy died. Can not find any
information about them. Their marriage shows up in the estate
papers. John H. is later found in Breckenridge Co. Ky.. In 1863 John H.
marries Sophronia Campbell. (same name) in Cloverport, Breckenridge Co.
KY. She was from Phillips Co. AR. and was blind.
We would appreciate any information concerning the early days of John and
Nancy. Where did James and Sarah A. disappear to after 1853?? Where was
John H. between 1853 and 1863?? Where did Rebecca go? Please call home. lol
Thanks,

I still want to check the Ships Roster of those Ships that landed in Va
for MY-OUR Amherst-Nelson County Campbells.
NOW, I have A project for some one with alot of experence of DELVING into
the intersanktom, Of genealogy.
At one time There were only Six Shires in Va, Then over time
There were 100 Counties Formed, Now it is back to, I Belive 97
Counties. To this point No Problem.
Well in 1938 & 39 the Richmond News paper Ran a Story in Each Sundy Paper
on the People & Other happening,s for a County up to then.
Well I read all of the articals, But I Can only remember ,This about ONE of
them: One SUNday, paper had this artical, I forget if it was About James City
County Or Albemarle County, But my Attenntion was Drawn to the Part about
the First, or one of the first Campbell,s that Came to Va. Seems OLE Gramps got
restless in town & desided to steal himself a horse, well the Constable Caught
him, put , Gramps in Jail. He managed to Escape, The story goes that this
OLE Campbell boy went too the Mountains, & as MY-OUR Campbell Ancestors Showed
up in what became Amherst Co. in <761> & Later part of Amherst Became Nelson
County in 1807-8.
I am hoping to attract some On line EXPERT to SEE if you can access the
Richmond Times Dispatch, Paper> Morgue & Help find the artical where The Ole
Campbell BOY Had his experence.
You SEE Cousins, There will be a Campbell Reunion in Charolettsville in
July & Another one in , I am Sure it will be in Massies Mill,Va. <Nelson County
Va> in OCT
I think a story like that would Be nice to Have for the Reunion
If some one else Finds it & Presents it I will Listen If Some One Finds it &
Will not be Able to ATTENNED the Reunion , PLEASE LET Me know how to get a
Copy. THANKS, CUZ A T & Leona. <atpowelljr(a)aol.com>
