In going through some of the paperwork I had saved over the years, I found
the following on NJ Campbell's:
NOTE that there may be several different John Campbell's here, two for sure
have been comingled over the years.
Also, this information was sent to me prior to 1999 by a person on the
Prodigy network. Most of the information seems to be from Rutger College in
NJ.
If anyone can add to this information, would appreciate it. Will try to
keep alphabetically by first name of the Main Campbell in each record.
The handwriting is hard to read, as the person was in a hurry and all
records had to be copied by handwriting the information. I'll do my best to
read it, but if I am unsure you will see "?" at end of word(s) in question.

Dear Beth,
It would seem we are related to the Nelson County Campbell's, since my
father is a 34/37 match to James Mehlander Campbell and Sam is a 33/37 match.
So I guess we can start looking there for our paper trail. Do you have
anything on this Russell County, Nelson County connection?

I have a Martha Campbell that married George Thomas Campbell . They lived in Wise County Virginia and also in McCreary , Letcher , and Leslie County Kentucky . George was born June 16, 1892 and died on May 5th 1967 in McCreary County . Martha was the daughter of Ephraim Caldwell and she married George Thomas Campbell who went by the name of Tom ... They have her listed as Margaret but her name was Martha . Does anyone have any information on these people and this Campbell family. They had 4 children .. Mattie Campbell who married Carl Spradlin , Rhode Campbell who married John Dotson , Pearl Halcomb Campbell who married Lonnie Collier , and Clyde Campbell who married Mae last name unknown before marriage to Clyde .. They show in the 1930 census in Richmond Virginia and in Appalachia Town and in Wise County Va. Any help would be appreciated ..
Cecil,
Please contact me directly for more details. Here are some answers to your
general questions.
Question - How do you go about joining ?
Answer - Contact me and I'll send you my general information FAQ and
instructions on joining. I want to make sure you understand the details including the
fact that the DNA sample must come from a Campbell male.
Question - Do you do the dna sample at home and mail it in?
Answer - Yes, with a small plastic scraper that collects some skin cells from
the inside of you mouth. It's as invasive as brushing your teeth.
Question - Do you recommend the 25 marker test?
Answer - Yes, the 25 marker test is $169. I recommend this over the 12
marker ($99) or the 37 marker ($229). One can always further upgrade to 37 later.
Question - How long does it take to get the results back?
Answer - Because of the National Geographic project it was taking a long time
(2-3 months), but this backlog has been cleared out. Now I expect results in
4-6 weeks.
