Eileen and Zelda, this is my family. I just responded to Zelda. The
Campbell children here are from Louisa's first marriage to George Washington
Campbell in 1849. After his death in 1856-57 she married David Smithey, and
the remaining children are with him. David died prior to the 1870 census.
Smith Campbell is my g-grandfather. Will be happy to share information as
either of you may need.

Zelda, this is my family. Louisa Hambrick Campbell Smithey is my
gggrandmother. I believe Albert on this census was probably 9 months of
age to be her grandson, the child of her son George W. Campbell, who was b.
about 1856.
The records I have on A.C. (Koonce) Campbell who married Cassie Norris
10-7-1900 do not show his parentage, though it is possible he could be a
step-grandson. Cassie, as you know, is the daughter of William Norris and
Margaret Campbell. Margaret is the daughter of George Washington Campbell,
my ancestor, and his first wife, Harriet Sloan; Louisa was his second wife.
George and Harriet had two sons: Morgan, who did not have a son named
Albert C., and Woodson (Woods), who seems to have disappeared, as I can find
no records for him after a marriage in about 1858. It is possible he died
in the Civil War, although none of the family researchers have that
information either.
I'm confident I've confused you sufficiently, so please let me know if I can
give you any further information; I will be happy to do so.

Hi Lesley, I just looked up the Campbells for 1800 and 1810 Wilmington
Delaware. 1810 Census has Mary Campbell 1 female under 16, 1 female over 45 and up.
Under her name was listed a Joseph Campbell, 1 male under 10, 1 male 45 and
upward.
1800 census has A Margaret, a Sarah, Betsy and a Hester Campbell listed.
Sorry I couldn't find a Flora
Good luck,
Carole Campbell McDonough
Does anyone have access to the 1810 census for Delaware and would be willing
to look up someone for me.
In a listing of people "18th & 19th& Century Residents of Wilmington, New
Castle County, Delaware" living past the age of 60. There is a listing for a
Widow CAMPBELL aged 68 in 1794, died in 1817, died at the age of 91.
I am trying to locate a FLORA CAMPBELL, who lived in New Castle County. The
age is correct for her, being born in 1726 in Scotland.
I wonder if Widow CAMPBELL and FLORA CAMPBELL are the same and if FLORA is
listed in the 1810 census. No other CAMPBELLS are listed, so do not know if she
was living by herself, or a family.
Thanks for any help.

I can give you this info from the 1870 census which may help:
New Market, Madison County, Alabama
============================
Smithey, Louisia, age 41, keeps house & farming, b. Alabama
Smithey, Sarah E., age 6, at home, b. Alabama
Smithey, William L., age 10, works on farm, b. Alabama
Smithey, Peter S., age 7, works on farm, b. Alabama
Smithey, Margaret A., age 5, at home, b. Alabama
Smithey, Thomas Rosen(?), age 4, at home, b. Alabama
Smithey, Mary D., age 4 months, b. Alabama
Campbell, Manerva C., age 18, works on farm, b. Alabama
Campbell, Smith A., age 17, works on farm, b. Alabama
Campbell, Geo. W., age 14, works on farm, b. Alabama
(surname of Geo. might be Smithey).
There are lots of Campbells in Madison County in 1860, but I can't find a
family that has a son named Smith. However, I did find the following in the
1910 Alabama Census
Madison County
Campbell, Smith, Head, age 59, married twice, 4 years this marriage, b.
Alabama, farmer, general farm
Campbell, Elizabeth A., age 63, married twice, 4 years this marriage, 12
children born, 8 children living, b. Alabama, father b. Georgia, mother
b.Alabama
White, Ollie B., Step-grandson, age 14, single, b. Alabama, parents b.
Alabama
Hope this helps.

Since summer is here and this teacher has time for genealogy, I have
rejoined this list.
I am looking for information on William Campbell who was born in 1782, in
Virginia according to his son on the 1880 census. In a hand written list of
ancestors, my great aunt listed William's father as Alexander Campbell, but
gives no dates or locations. She listed his siblings: Alexander, Thomas,
James, Florence, and Jennie. I am 99% certain that his father is not the
famous religious figure, Alexander Campbell.
I would like to know about William's ancestry.
William married Mildred Green who was also born in 1782. There are many
references in Boone County, KY records to William Campbell and his wife,
'Milley' between 1803 and 1814. They moved to Scott County, IN in time to
make the 1820 census. William and family are back on the Boone County, KY
census in 1840 and 1850. Their son, Thomas Waller Campbell was born about
1800, in Boone County as far as I can tell, and represented his parents in a
land sale in Boone County when they were still in IN. Thomas married Rebecca
Wingate in Boone County in 1824.
William Campbell is buried in Boone County.
I have other information about the Campbells and Greens in Boone County, and
later in Hopkins County, KY, if anyone is interested.
Thanks for any help,
Suzanne Russell
Albert C. Campbell is on a 1880 Madison County AL census with a Louisa
Smithey and is listed as a grandson, age 9 yrs. and his parents were also born
in AL. He was married to Cassie Norris in Oct. 1900. My father told me that
he had a nickname of "Koonce" <not sure of spelling>.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Zelda
