Hi,
I found 3 entries for William Franklin Campbell married to Rose Ada Gibson on www.Ancestry.com, all entered by the same person at different times.
Genforum came up with the following entry re: Rose Ada Gibson - There are followup messages on this entry - several people are interested in Rose. The only Campbell mentioned in the Gibson Forum is Grace May Campbell, daughter of Rose Ada Gibson. Didn't find William Franklin Campbell in the Campbell forum

Donald Bruner here.
I have found that there are several William Preston's in and around our
Campbell's, Our line has more than one.
William P Campbell son of Mark Campbell & Lucinda Morehead/Moorehead ?
William P. Campbell may be a brother to John Campbell husband of Jane
Ritchey, who is the daughter of Abigail Dill Ritchey & Adam Ritchey,
connected also is Adam Ritchie & Agness Nancy Bolton Ritchie the
grandparents. (note change in spelling. I think that this spelling came over
on the boat and was changed when children were born in USA.
If you find a name of John's parents I sure need same. Take care

Julia Ann Campbell, b 11 Mar 1829 in Wayne OH, is shown as marrying a John
Herman in Summit Co in 1853. This information is shown in a biblw record
held by a Campbell in Chicago.
I seek information about any issue of the Julia Ann Campbell/John Herman
union. They are possibly my G-grandparents.
Thanks.

I'm only getting one copy.

My Campbell is JOHN CAMPBELL. He married SARAH ELEANOR "ELLA" BALDWIN in Starke County Indina in 1880. They had at least 1 daughter, EVA MAE who was born March 28, 1883. Is this family familiar to anyone? Would like to see if Eva had siblings.

Looking for information on James Campbell who married Elizabeth or Mary
Mehlander in VA or TN about 1800 (these are said to be the parents of Ellis
Campbell b 1804 in VA). A story was in one of the Clan Campbell magazines
prior to September 2002 (it's not the spring or summer version). I would
like to update my genealogy information. Matt if you are online and get
this mail list, please email me.

Sorry Ann,
I probably led everyone up the garden path.....I have Norman A. Campbell,
nicely tucked away in the local cemetery here in Bundaberg Australia (where
he helped make the rum up until he died :_)) I am actually looking for
his sister Scotland born, Mary (who the family didn't know existed until I
came across this newspaper article.)
I am now hoping to find something on her arrival in Canada, since it was
reported she accompanied the wife of the Governor General as her lady
companion..
Thanks for the census website...I'll check it out...
Cheers

Hi: My grandfather was Frank C. Campbell. He was married to Rose Smith and
they divorced in 1890. I have not found any info about him since that time.
Could your F. C. Campbell be the same one. If he married again and had
children we could be related. Frank was born in 1855 in Rock Creek,
Ashtabula Co. Ohio.
He was a dentist in Pendleton, Or. Do we have a connection? Jean Bunch

[CAMPBELL] RIDEAU HALL and Mary Campbell
This is my first posting to this list...
I have found a tantalising piece of my family history in an April 1923
edition of the local newspaper...It relates to an ancestor I didn't know
existed...It is very light on information, but I am hoping someone may be
able to suggest some avenues for untangling the mystery This is an extract
of the article..
" By the last American mail, Mr. Norman A. Campbell of Bingera plantation,
received the sad news of the death of his sister Mary. She was born in
Scotland and came over to York (West Australia) with her parents in a
military transport...After the regiment was transferred to Ceylon, being a
typical Scot, she returned to her native land, but left it once again as
lady's companion to the Governor of Canada's wife. There she married, and
resided in Ontario for many years, but removed to La Salle (New York,
U.S.A.), where she died, leaving a husband and married son to mourn."
The parents married in Scotland, in 1847 and came to Australia in 1851... I
have been given the Census for 1871 and 1881 for Rideau Hall, in case she
was the lady companion to those wives of the Governor of Canada. but she
was not listed at Rideau Hall..
I have no idea how to find her arrival in Canada...but I guess it was at
the same time as the arrival of the wife of the Governor of Canada, of that
time.
Are there any shipping lists which may note her arrival? (I may be able to
work out her age..?)
How long would it have taken for mail to travel from America to Australia in
1923..?? (establishing an approximate date of death!!)
Looking for any clues..Thanks and Cheers

Hi,
This site has census records which have been transcribed by volunteers. It starts with the 1790 census. It has all states listed, but does not have all of the counties. The formats of the transcribers differs (the number of categories).
