Are there any researchers out there researching the line of Robert Campbell
(Born: 1728, son of Dugald) and John Campbell. John's sister Jane/Janet
Campbell married Robert. Both Robert and John settled in the Kishacoquillas
valley in the spring of 1774.
Robert's line is well documented at:
I am looking for more information on John Campbell - Robert's brother-in-law
Alternatively, does anyone have access to Hallock Sherrard's The Campbells of
Kishacoquillas. Historical Sketch and Genealogical Records of the Robert
Campbell Family, and the John Campbell Family? Supposedly, this book
documents these families.

Hi, I'm new to the list, and just beginning my Campbell research.
I have John Franklin Campbell b. 12/22/1862, who married Rose Ada Gibson b. 12/30/1868 in abt. 1886. I've been able to trace Rose's family back through the census records with relative ease, but I'm not sure about John F. Campbell. I don't have his parent's names, nor do I know any siblings names. Does anyone have access to marriage books or indexes for this county to check for this couple? William F. Campbell died May 12, 1909 and is buried in the Gibson Cemetery in Craighead County. I've looked for an obit, but was unsuccessful.
Is anyone else working on this family?

Can't place my Campbells at that place at that time but
My Joseph Campbell (b 1794) married a Sarah Elizabeth Snyder (b 1799 several
spellings) who was born in Philly. Hang in there. I'll get to it.
Joseph's son Alexander (named for Joseph's father) was in the Civil War and
wrote a diary. Toward the back of that diary he references one member of the
Snyder family and one member of the Campbell family in Baltimore. The
Campbells tended to stay with and visit kin.
I've found no other reference to Baltimore in any other research but we all
grasp at straws don't we??
Would be glad to hear from you and exchange information.
Joy: As far as I know, Samuel Campbell was the oldest of three brothers
(that we know of)--the other 2 were James, (my paternal
gggg-grandfather), and William. This is ot to say there couldn't have
been other siblings. Samuel married Charity Edwards in Greene County, GA
in 1801. He and his 2 brothers show up in the early land records in
Madison County, MO in the early 1800's. James' wife's name was Amelia
(last name unknown); they had 9 children, all born in Madison County,
MO. James died around 1826; Amelia and all 9 children moved to Scott
County, ILL. after James' death. Samuel and his family (also had 9
children) mved to Washinton County, MO about 1827. Nothing is known
about William. Samuel had many business dealings with a John Campbell
over the years, which lead us to wonder if they were somehow related. We
don't know where the brothers were brn--best guesses are Virginia or the
Carolinas or Georgia. Samuel was born about 1765; best guess on James is
1774-1778; nothing for William, other than he was the youngest of the 3.
There is some speculation that their parents' names mght have been John
and Mary, but this hasn't been proven. Hope to hear from you soon. Nancy
