I am interested in your John Campbell and Jane Ritchie,
do you have more info on them and is this your line?
I am looking for a John Campbell and a wife named
Jane or Nancy ? Do you have children for this couple?
Thanks,
Nancy Campbell Phillips
A couple things to keep in mind about the errors. Is one
the cesus taker was simply the most educated person
around. This did not mean he was educated. I recetnly
looked up a name for someone and the names were spelt with
Linch, Tinch, and Finch. Most it had to do with what the
census taker heard, how it was actually said, how easy his
hand writing is, and in unusaul names if the person giving
the info was literate enough to spell it. On top of that
although of this VOLUNTEER work was double checked it is
still possible for some human error. I am sure everything
in it though is spelt as well as the people could read it.

I am replying to the search for Addie Ruth Campbell, but it could apply to
others.
I just learned about the Morman 1880 Census data base and have found a
number of families that would be difficult to find otherwise.
Just go to familysearch.com
On the left hand side select census.
Your curser is on a field called census and has 'ALL' selected.
Click on the down arrow to just get the 1880 US Census.
You have a number of ways to limit a search.
When you enter the birth country as United States you are able to enter the
state.
When you enter a census state, you can enter a county.
I've found a number of families this way. Good Luck!
The above resided in the south west corner of Missouri and had two children,Gail Campbell and Harry Harrison Campbell. Harry married (?) an Addie Ruth Parker of the Oklahoma Indian terratory (possibly some relation to Chief Quantum Parker)
Please put in your files these names. If you have any informatio on my great and great, great grandparents, let me know. This is all I have on them.
Thanks, Don G. campbell

Hi, listers - I am trying to trace my Campbell line through my g-grandfather, Charles Campbell, born June 20, 1850, in Lowell, MA. His father was Edwin Campbell, born 1820 to 1830, of Vermont, mother was Phebe Ann (last name unknown). Other sons were Elbert, Edward, and Ernest. The 1880 census has Charles, Elbert, and Edward living in Franklin, MA. Edwin, Phebe Ann, and Ernest are living in Acton, ME. Do any of these names and locations seem familiar? Would gladly trade information. Doret Jenkins
I found these while trying to find something on Patrick Campbell Jr B.
Augusta Co. VA son of Patrick Campbell Sr. & Elizabeth (Taylor)... Did not
find any clues for him but here are some things might help others.

No the reason i am concerned about this marriage George and Mary
Russell/Campbell January 1791 is that My William Campbell was born in 1793 in
Davidson county and his first child was named Geoge. I have been looking for
a long while. Generations later they intermarried with the Russells.
David Campbell
