What year was your Hugh Campbell born?
I didn't realize there were as many Hugh Campbell's out there until I ran a
search on Ancestry.Com. When I first saw his name on my g. grandma's d.c. I
thought Oh good, these aren't common names, maybe I'll be able to find theme
easily..... boy was I a bit ignorant.
According to family stories, my grandma Sallie was raised in a somewhat
wealthy family and if memory doesn't fail me they may have had a plantation
or such... she told my mother she had been rocked many nights by her
"mammie" (no offense intended to anyone- a part of my heritage I'm not
proud of..)
I was thinking I'd change my strategy and possibly look for Sallie's
daughter's descendants... maybe someone may know something on that end?
what do y'all think about that? Suggestions appreciated.
Jean

Looking for information about my gg grandfather, Alfred Browne Campbell.
He was from the Bowling Green, KY area. His father was a Methodist Minister,
and he was one of 13 children. I do not know what Alfred's mother and fathers
names were. I am hoping someone might be able to help me out with this.
Alfred was born around 1845. This is all the information I have.

Looking for information regarding John Campbell (the first), father of Captain John Campbell. Any information to help straighten out dates would be appreciated.

Nancy,
I like the poem Nancy. How true it is! We are each given a choice in life.
We are born free, without any prior knowledge except for what I believe to
be genetic, our paths, we choose, through lifes experiences and one good
point is to remember never to judge someone for their personal beliefs. To
do this is stepping on our creators toes, so to speak. I always try to
remember this!

Hello Clan;
I am still looking for my Benjamin Grant Campbell. He married Maude Elisabeth
Plank in 1894 in Steuben County New York. He died in 1950 and is buried in
Morris, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Anyone????
Thank you,
Cathy
Thanks for checking your own list, Dorothy. So far no one has found this
family, but one of these days I hope to run across them. I appreciate your
effort.

Neil,
None of the names you mentioned are in my list. I have a John
Campbell - 1794-1870 listed. My Campbells have been in Illinois for many
years. One is listed from NC. I have not tried to learn about him
(Edward Campbell) yet.
Good luck in your search.

I agree. Has anyone heard the poem, author unknown:
They came for the Christians,
I wasn't a Christian,
So I just stood by.
They came for the Jews,
I wasn't a Jew,
So I just stood by.
They came for the Blacks,

Can we please stop cluttering up a perfectly good genealogy digest/forum
with these comments? (Sorry, Clarence; nothing personal - yours was
just the last one of many.) If you folks want to applaud or condemn an
individual, email them directly and PRIVATELY, and do not subject the
rest of us to a digest filled with off-subject doo-doo.
Can we hear from the listmaster, please?

Surname: CAMPBELL, ALLEN
-------------------------
Looking for anyone who may have known my father, Allen Henry CAMPBELL,
who lived almost his whole life in Springfield, OH (19 Dec 1928-11 Jul
1969). His parents were Henry Clinton (Clint) and Leona (Onie) Myrtle (ALLEN)
CAMPBELL who resided on Karr St.
His older sisters were Juanita (Campbell) PRATT and Evelyn (Campbell) STEVENS,
both deceased.
I am trying to locate the surname of his first wife. They were married
ca 1950. I believe they resided on Clifton Ave. during part of their marriage.
I have a copy of their divorce record and it states her name as Wilma T.
He married my mom Dorothy in 1958 and we lived on Crestview Dr. until 1973.
He was a member of the Clark County Beagle Club and we attended Lagonda
United Methodist Church. He was co-owner of the Franks Campbell Company
in Dayton in the early 1960's and was employed at Kelsey-Hayes at the time
of his death.
Would appreciate any information
Yolanda (Campbell) Lifter

I would like to apologize to everyone on this list for the recent message I sent out titled "Read This Please".
Not only have I found out that this message was a hoax, but I never intended that it go to this list. I inadvertently included the list address when I sent it to others in my address file.
I certainly should have checked the authenticity of this message before sending it, and should have been much more careful when addressing the message.
I apologize for offending anyone on the list and for wasting your time and energy in having to read such a message that had nothing to do with genealogy!! Thank you!
