Looking for information on John CAMPBELL born about 1737 in Scotland who
married Mary Scott; born about 1741 also in Scotland. He emigrated;
probably through Encland; in about 1762 with children Susannah (eventually
married a Simmonds); Leah; Rachel; James and George. I believe they first
went to New England (Boston or Salem) and then went on to Nova Scotia.
George married Mary Reynolds; daughter of Nathaniel Reynolds; and they live
and died inClifton; Colchester; Nova Scotia. George had a number of
children; many of whom apparently moved to around Sackville. George's on
John married a Miss Miller; and later a Mattatahl. He drowned in the
Musquodoboit river.; Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Cathryn

I'm new at this, and am trying to trace my lineage. My father's name is
Robert Alexander Campbell 2nd and was born in New Mexico, and his father was
Rober Alexander Campbell and he was born in Hot Springs in , Arkansas in
1905. This is about all my father knows about his lineage. He knows his
grandfather's name was Nathanial Campbell, I know there were several kids
but don't know their names. I think nathanial Campbell was married to Eva
Newt.
If there is anyone out there who know anything about this line, my ultimate
goal is to trace back to Scotland. There was one story that we were from
the Clan Campbell that was involved in the massacre at Glencoe, and that is
what I'm trying to figure out. So if anyone can help me I would really
appreciate it.

To the List:
I have a copy of the following Indentures and Grants:
William CAMPBELL - Sumner County, Tennessee
Robert CAMPBELL - Sumner County, Tennessee
William CAMPBELL - Sumner County, Tennessee
Daniel CAMPBELL - Davidson County, Tennessee
John CAMPBELL - Davidson County, Tennessee
Robert and John CAMPBELL - Smith County, Tennessee
These are all from the late 1700s and early 1800s.
Does anyone on the list have a Darnell/Darnal/Darneil/Daniel CAMPBELL,
born circa 1785 in South Carolina and married in 1811 in Montgomery County,
Tennessee? I am desperately trying to find his parents and siblings.
If the above Indentures and Grants are of genealogical interest to you, I
would be glad to transcribe them for you.

Searching for infomation on Robert Campbell And Robert Campbell Jr .I
believe Robert Campbell was born in Scotland and married Sara Jane
White who I believe was from New Hampshire. There children included
Robert Campbell Jr I do not have any info on other children. Robert
Campbell jr was born in Chester Windsor Vermont in1796. He married
Belinda Woodward in 1822 and their children were
Robert,Nehemiah,Catherine,Submit who I believe married Phillip
Gannett,Artisma,Lucia,Rodney Morris who married Olive Ann Calahan in
1865,James and Anderson.
If anyone has any info on this family it would be much appreciated.

At the risk of starting W.W. 111, the following is not strictly
pertaining to Campbell genealogy.
If it is not true then it makes for a great film. Sean Connery springs

Good afternoon. Please pardon the
unsolicited message, but I just came
upon the following rare family history
and thought it might be of interest
to the Chapman family mailing list:
[CAMPBELL-PILCHER]. Pilcher, Margaret
Campbell. Historical Sketches of the
Campbell, Pilcher and Kindred Families.
Nashville, Tenn. [Privately Printed],
Margaret Campbell Pilcher, (1911). In-
cluding the Bowen, Russell, Owen, Grant,
Goodwin, Amis, Carothers, Hope, Taliaferro,
and Powell Families. 8vo. Pp. 444. Frontis.,
profuse fullpage photographic and engraved
plates -- mostly portraits and views, text
illus. coat of arms. Orig. olive cloth,
panels ruled in black, leather label on
spine printed in gilt (slight wear with
no loss). Faint damp-staining along fore-
edge of cloth and text (text not affected),
occasional light penciled notes, otherwise
very good copy of the first and only edition.
Scarce. Concerns the two Campbell families
of Virginia who were the descendants of
Dugal Campbell, born at Inverary, Argyleshire,
Scotland. John Campbell, the first of the
Campbell line in America, emigrated from his
fathers estate Dromboden, seven miles from
Londonderry, Northern Ireland to America and
settled on the Sweet Ara, Lancaster County,
Pennsylvania. In 1730, he purchased a large
tract of land in Orange (later Augusta) County,
Virginia. The family proceeds through several
southern states, including Kentucky, Tennessee
and the Carolinas. Toedtberg, Cat. of Amer.

Dear Campbell cousins,
I hope one of you might have some information on my branch of the Campbell
family that started out in this country in Paterson, Passaic County, NJ. My
information is mostly from the 1850, 1870, and 1920 census records and as we
all know they are not always accurate. The birth dates listed without
month/day are just guesstimates from these census records.

I am looking for Rachael's Husband. She is listed as the head of the house
on the 1847 and 1849 Censuses. She is listed with all of her children on the
1850 Census. On the 1850 Wapello County Iowa Census, she is listed as the
head of the house born in 1815 in Kentucky. The Children's father is also
listed as born in Kentucky.
Children listed:
Samuel born 1834 Illinois
Joseph 1836 Illinois
Hirum 1840 Iowa
Harvey 1843 Iowa
Sarah 1844 Iowa
Cyrus 1845 Iowa
Carolyn 1846 Iowa
Racheal, Samuel and Harvey were not found on the 1860 Census. Joseph was
living in Fremont County Iowa with his future In-laws. The rest of the
children were living with others in the area. Hirum with the William
Anderson family. Sarah and Cyrus with the Andrew E Fargeston family (his
wife Mary A was born in Kentucky). Carolyn with the Thomas Fletcher family.
Carolyn is the only one who could be found later in Wapello County. She
married Robert K DOUGLASS (a widower) on 6 Apr 1876 in Ottumwa, Wapello,Iowa.
She and Robert were still there on the 1880 Census.
I found no marriage records for a Racheal and any Campbell in Illinois. The
"Iowa Genealogical Society Surname Index" Vol. 2 1975 shows Robert S Campbell
born 1815 KY, died 1880 in IA, married, in 1834, Rachel Jolley/Jolly born
1819 KY.
Does anyone have information that would help me with my blank wall.

Does anyone have a John Campbell in their family who was born in Laurens
County, So. Carolina around 1790? He was married to a woman named Mary.
Their childrens names are Charles, James, Cassie, Mary, Elijah, and Henry.
John was supposed to have died around 1811. After his death , his son Henry
sold all of the property and they moved to Gwinette Co. Georgia.
Henry was married to a woman named Anna and all I know about them is that
they had 2 sons and 2 daughters before they left S.C.
After they moved to Georgia , Henry was one of the lucky people to have won
land in THE CHEROKEE LAND LOTTERY OF 1832.
After this Henry sold the land and they moved to Forsyth Co. Georgia. After
1850 Henry moved his family again into Randolph Co. Al. There Henry and Anna
had a son named Francis Marion and a daughter named Adeline. Would love to
know the names of other children of John and Mary and need to know the rest
of Henry and Annas' children. I know there has to be someone else out there
who is kin to this family beside me. HELP! I will be more than happy to
share any information on this family that I have.
