Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Does anyone have any information on this man? They all lived in Fayette County, AL. Supposedly the family
came from the Cape Fear area in NC. I just can't find his parents. He had 3 brothers. The four of them are

The family moved to AL in 1819. Archibald became one of the founders of
Montgomery and owned a large plantation. -- Can anyone confirm this?

County, Tenn GenWeb site. There is not any information on Robert's
parents, the ship that they came on, their family in Ireland, nor the
family in Scotland that I have been able to come up with yet. I too an
searching for more information on them before 1725 when they came to
Philadelphia, then Virginia, then Tenn. Robert's father supposedly died
at sea, but I don't have a name for him. Robert (Alexander's father)
had brothers by the name of Archibald, Anderson, William and Colin and a
sister Catherine. I hope this helps. Any information you could share
would be appreciated too.

Seeking information on John D. Campbell, b. about 1810 in Chesterfield Dist.
SC, son of John and Catherine Campbell. John D. married Charlotte McKay in
1836 in SC. The family moved to Chambers Co. in 1837. John D. and Charlotte
settled in Macon Co. and later in Montgomery Co. According to "Memorial
Record of Alabama", John D. Campbell died in Childersburg in 1875, and
Charlotte died in Shelby Co. in 1882.
I would like to hear from anyone who descends from John D. Campbell and

He was born 1805 in Edgefield SC and supposedly died in 1871.
He moved to Kemper Co. MS about 1847 and raised a large family. His wife was
Flora McArn from NC.

We have recently discovered that the cousin of my wife's great-grandfather
was head housekeeper at Inverary Castle in the 1880's and 1890's. Her name
was Isabella MACPHAIL. Can anyone please direct me as to how I might go

Betsey Campbell (married name) was born in 1808 in Scotland. She emigrated to
NA through Nova Scotia where at least two of her four children were born.
Alex Campbell b. 1850 in Nova Scotia
William Campbell b. 1852 in Nova Scotia
Alex Campbell married a woman named Mary b. 1851 in NY. Sometime
between 1880 and 1900 Alex, William, their mother Betsey and Alex's
family found their way to the Ashland Twshp, Grant MI area.
Alex and Mary had these children: (according to the census Mary is
of 9 living

Bessie E. graduated from Nurses training school about 1900
and married Julius Nelson b. 1882. They had 3 children:

Second CAMPBELL line in MI
Charles H. Campbell m. Louisa Sherman (both born in NY) they went to Wisconsin
where their son Charles Willard Campbell was born, then on to the Matherton,
Ionia Co., area of Michigan where they had two more children, Henry and Mary
Campbell b. 1861 & 1864 respectively.
Charles H. Campbell died in 1865 and Louisa remarried William Leonard - in
1870 they were still in Matherton. By 1880 only their son Charles Willard
Campbell is still there with his new wife Sophronia Whitman b. 1860. By 1900
Charles Willard Campbell had moved his family to the Mt. Pleasant area.
Charles Willard and Sophronia had two children:
Effie Louise Campbell b. 1880 *my greatgrandmother
Willard Campbell b. 1884
Does anyone recognize any of these people or typical migration patterns?

I am trying to share and exchange information about Charles McPheeters
CAMPBELL born in March 1842 in Indiana (I think in Monroe County), the
son of Matthew Monroe CAMPBELL and Martha MCPHEETERS. At some point,
but I'm not sure when or why, he moved to Boulder, Boulder County,
Colorado. He was married twice: (1) Mary M. A. CHAMBERS on 24 Aug 1869
in Boulder--they have 2 children, Martha J born in 1870 and Mary E born
about 1873. His wife Mary died 19 Aug 1873 of cerebral meningitis. (2)
Amanda E. Hall on 8 Nov 1874 in Boulder. They had the following
children: Coline born Oct 1879, Charles F. born 29 Apr 1882, Argyle
McAlain born 23 Nov 1884 (my maternal grandmother's father), and Amanda
born 5 Jun 1890.

She was born in New York state about 1820, and died in Bates County,
in 1895. She married Richard Nun Allen (1819-1899), an Allegheny
College student, on 3-10-1840, at Meadville, Pennsylvania. Mr. Allen
was the brother of R.T.P.
Allen and the brother-in-law of Jay Cooke, the banker. Nothing is know

I am trying to find out more about Matthew Monroe CAMPBELL born 12
Nov 1810 near Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. He moved to the Louisville,
Kentucky area at the age of 8 and lived there until he moved to
Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana, where he attended and then taught
at Indiana University. He married Martha J. MCPHEETERS about 1836 and
had 8 children, all born in Indiana, I assume in Monroe County, born
between 1840 and 1858. The children are Sarah, Charles McPheeters (my
gggrandfather), Matthew Tompson, Louisa, Arthur Lee, James M., John
Bunyan, and Jane Crawford.
Matthew and Martha both died in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas,
Martha in 1881 and Matthew in 1897.
If anyone has any information about Matthew's parents, siblings, or
descendants, I would appreciate that information.
