Recently I came across information about my Gr-gr-gr-grandmother who's
name was Delia Ann Campbell, she was probably born sometime around
1850. I can only guess using 1892, the date my great grandmother was
born, as a reference point;as her name is all I have in the way of
statistical data.I do know that she probably married in or around Iowa
as that is where most of this branch of the family is from, but I cannot
be sure. I know that she married John Jacob Stinman, they had a
daughter, named Mary Louise who married Charles Elmer Thomas May 27,
1888. They had four children, including my great grandmother Clara
Lorena Thomas who was born in Avondale, Adair CO., Iowa in 1892 and
married Robert Samuel Harter, on June 8, 1913. Is there anyone out there
who can help me with more information about Delia Ann and her family?
Quentin,
I wonder if Campbells are notorious in this respect? My Campbell line is one
of my two most stubborn.

Hi
Was chatting to a friend in Denmark and was telling him that I am doing
research into my roots. He told me he tried but could not find anything.
I had a look for him, by doing a random search with Cyndi's List. With in 5
minutes I found a web page with his whole family going back to the 1820's.
Needless to say that he was ecstatic!
Oh well, my search continues :)

Reserching Campbell of Detroit<MI
Known facts:
my ancestor....Walter Eberts Campbell,born July 31,1852, Detroit,
Mi,
Died, September 9,1923, Isle aux Peaches, Ontario, Canada. Was married
to
Eda Von Witzleben. Had two daughters, Christal Elina, and Ester.
Walter's father was William P. Campbell , his mother, Mary Lewis.
Walter, my great-grandfather, was general manager of the Bob-Lo
Ferry company in Detroit at his death and before that, the
Detroit/Winsor Ferry
Company.
If there is anyone out there that either they or someone you know
knew
him as a little boy/girl, I would love to hear from. Also any
information on Walter's
father, William P. ,would be greatly appreciated. How about Campbell's
from Detroit???
Most of the queries here seem to be from the southern and midwestern US.
I am seeking information on the ancestors of my grandfather, Alexander
Bellew Campbell. He was born in Co. Fermanagh Ireldand (possibly
Enniskillen). He was born April 25, 1885 and died in Milton, MA in
January 1963. He married Julia Cronin (Kanturk, Co. Cork Ireland) in
East Boston, MA in 1920 and she died in 1923, shortly after the birth of
her second child.
His father was Alexander Campbell (1856-1910) from Glen, Tempo PO, Co.
Fermanagh, and his mother was Mary Magdalen O'Connor (1860-1916) from
Ballyreach, Co. Fermanagh.
If anyone has any information on the Campbells in Co. Fermanagh, I'd
love to hear from them.
Thanks.

Glenn,
WILEY CAMPBELL was my great grandfather. I have been unable to find
him in Indiana, although I, too, was told he was born in Vincennes on
the Wabash River. I am told that WILEY had brothers who fought on
opposite sides in the Civil War. He worked building the Iron Mountain
Railroad at Granden, Mo., and was a stone mason during the construction
of Southeast Missouri State University. A large stone fell on him and
crushed his pelvis. I believe WILEY's wife was Sarah Elizabeth
Williams. I am told she was part Indian and still spoke the language.
She did die in her 30's, and the eldest son, Andy (Milton Anderson) ran
away from home when his father remarried. He lived with Uncle Billy
Henson (no relation, I am told) and Henson and his wife Lizzie (not
WILEY'S daughter) brought up all of WILEY and Sarah's children.
I don't believe LIZZIE CAMPBELL married Bill Henson. I understand she
married a man named BROWN and they opened gypsum mines near Joplin, Mo.
They had seven sons. Although the name GRANT CAMPBELL appears in the
census records, that son was actually called LEE. Either there was some
disagreement over the Civil War or they were hedging their bets.
WILEY seems to be a dead end. I can't find any trace of him before
1880. I would appreciate any information at all about his parents or
SARAH'S.

Hi, Paul.
I have an Amos Campbell in about the same timeframe, in
about the same area, but not exactly. I think my Amos was
born in Wilmington, DE on Oct 7, 1845. Siblings were born
between 1848 - 1870, and include:
Jesse
Samuel
William
Thomas W.
Charles Henry
Ellathera
David Franklin
Irene A.
Alfred C.
Walter
Walter is the youngest, and is my ggrandfather. Somewhere
along the ancestral line, they arrived at Trenton New
Jersey from Scotland circa 1750, and they eventually ended
up in Wilmington, Delaware. Any chance your Amos is
related to mine?

Inquiry:
Charles CAMPBELL; c. 1730-1740 m. Elizabeth CAMPBELL
Lived near Harpers Ferry, Virginia -- he apparently served in Revolutionary War
Family tradition is that these two were cousins.
>> Believe these two... either born in VA or immigrated to the Colonies as
children.
>> Relocated to Oglethorpe County, Georgia after the Rev. War; their only child,
Levi (H. or M.) Campbell, owned land in two counties. Atleast Charles went
also when Levi moved to Abbeville, Vermillion Parish, Louisiana.
>> Suspect that Elizabeth's maiden name may have been 'ORR' and her history
past Levi's birth is currently unknown to us.
>> Per a great grandson, Levi Stratton Rice (1898);
1. Charles never applied for his entitled pension.
2. Remarried while in Vermillion Parish to a widow with grown children, her
name is unknown.
3. Charles died at an elderly age while residing on his son's Vermillion Parish
property.
I apologize for the vagueness but this is all we know to date . . . any assistance
will be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for parents and siblings of Mary Campbell who was born in
Cumberland Co., PA and died in Greene County, PA. She married Joseph Wilford
