Do you have any information on any Campbells who may have come on to
Texas??

Doris,
I have a fairly extensive recorded ancestry of Campbells in LA, but I
don't think your great grandmother is among them. In my research, I'll
keep a look-out for your Henrietta and I'll be sure to let you know if I
happen on her name.
Kind Regards,

I apologize for not replying to you sooner.
I don't think any of my ancestors remained in Georgia. My ggggf. was
there from about 1802 to 1809,having come from North Carolina, and his
son William (my gggf.) was born there in 1807), but the entire family
(wife and two children) along with two slaves was granted a passport to
cross Indian Territory (Alabama) and emigrate to Mississippi in 1808.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Kindest Regards,

Okay, folks, you got part of the story, you might as well hear the rest. The
Hotel Biscuit. Has anyone heard of same? It's in a large city on a rocky
shore line (could be either sea or large lake). There's a breakwater and a
promontory on which is located a fort. Perhaps to guard a channel. A long
boulevard extends away from the shoreline, from near the fort. There are
large churches with tall spires and a government building or palace. The
photograph appears to be from the 1920's. What city is this? Diarmid?
Anybody?
I look forward to hearing from you and hope that my e-mail problem is now
fixed.
To anyone else out there, who might receive this message (those not
-knowingly- on the Campbell-L list), will you please let me know immediately?
Note: This does not appear to be a list problem. It is, I think, my own and
perhaps AOL's.
And now, one other request. I need a Gaelic epithet.
Thanks. Brgds, Connie

I am looking for a lost relative named Renda Marie Campbell. She lived in
Huntsville at one time or another. My family lost contact with her side quite
some time ago. We do not know if she married, but most likely she did. I have
already checked the Huntsville phone books. Please, anyone who knows her, or
is willing to help me do what you can. And if you do find her please inform
me.
Thank You,
S. Aaron Peavy
Someone e-mailed me with info on there line and wanted a copy of mine. My
hubby accidentally deleted the message and the printer didn't print the
e-mail add. All I need is the address to reply. The other information
printed fine. Who ever you are please e-mail me.
I here all Campbell's are related for that area. Maybe we can make a
match.

This is terrible. I received this message (from myself) on the list today. It
was not meant as a list message, nor as a reply to a message. It had nothing
to do with the List. How can this be happening? Is the whole list receiving
all of my messages?

Please note that the TO: address in my send screen was not (repeat, not) the
list address.

Note to other subscribers. My apoligies for the junk mail. Soon, surely, we
will get it fixed.

Hi, Folks,
Some email programs will let you send a blank subject line. Two that I
know of, and use, are pine (for Unix) and Groupwise (a Novell netware
Windows product). There are probably others.
I think the mailing list software will put in a "Unidentified Subject" at
some point, but I'm not sure where or why. I don't like them, but I don't
have the time to investigate or complain to the software programmer.
As for the one that said "blank", I think the sender may have put in that
word, thinking they were sending the message to the unsubscribe address.
Unfortunately, they sent it to the posting address.
Here are the addresses for future use:

Regular: Campbell-L-request(a)genealogy.org
Note: remember to put the correct word on the Subject line or your
request will not work.

Yes, we keep thinking about the Hotel Biscuit. We keep getting new ideas
about how to identify it, but that's as far as we've gotten.
I don't understand the (no subject) thing, either. It must have to do with
the server (or program and access) they're using to do e-mail. When I can't
think of something to put in the subject box, I type a . (period). Any
character in that box will do.
May that is the unknown city in the photo, or did we figure that out?
Remember Hotel Biscuit?
How can people send stuff saying "no subject," or "blank'"? I have gotten
both. When I try it I get a message saying, "form not completely filled out"
Just curious.
I have just returned from Newfoundland where i spent some time
researching my Campbell ancestors. Unfortunately, most records were
destroyed in the great fire of 1892. I did , however, find out that
Vice-Admiral John Campbell, governor of Newfoundland from 1782 to 1786
was supposedly my ancestor. I found some notes in an old family bible
that say he was the son of a minister from Kirkbean in Kirkcudbrightshire
(at least that's what it looks like). Can anyone tell me if there is
such a place and where exactly it is? Also, does anyone have any info on
this gentleman and his ancestors and descendents. I am missing two or
three generations between this man and my ancestor Daniel Campbell born
in 1838. John was born about 1720 and died in 1790 in London.

I am looking for information on: Mary E. or M. Campbell.
She married: Henry Clayton Smallwood in Chattooga County Georgia in
1875.
I am trying to find her parents, as well as a birthdate for her---it may
have been 1858-1859.
Thanks,
Cindy
Sheryl,
Hang in there. I thought I came from a rock family, too. Was about to give
up, but decided to try one last, wild, idea. It worked and the result was an
800 year journey through time and my family. I have many other mysteries and
missing persons, but this one success - which happened it two weeks time -
has encouraged me to NEVER give up.
Best of luck to you. They're out there!
Dear Clan,
I am looking for some Campbells misiing from my tree. First of all,
does anyone know of Archibald Campbell, who pitched a season or two for the
New York Yankees in the 1930's? He is my mother's cousin, and we are trying
to add his
side of the family into our records. His father was either William or
Murdock, and this gentleman was my grandfather's brother. They came from
Dundee in the late 1800's.
I am also looking for my grandfather George Campbell's daughter Agnes
Campbell's family. She was his daughter by his first wife, whose name is
unknown.
She was born in the early 1890's and had several children. My grandfather
lived in
Bayridge, Brooklyn, and Agnes may have been raised by her maternal grandmother
in the Bronx. She was still living in the N.Y. area in 1948, but this was a
family that was very secretive. My mother did not even know her half sister
existed until their
father's wake, where they met for the first time. George Cample was Chief
Oil Inspector for New York Harbor, and had been a ship's captain at one time.
Please, if you know something about my secretive family, let me know.
