Subject: [CaPaNe] 2005 Campbell Reunion Association Report - Subscribers Version
Below is a message those of you who are descendants of Joseph and Mary Harper Campbell may
have already recieved. If so, apologies for the duplication.
But please look at the first part of this preface and let me know if you have current
e-mail addresses for those that "bounced" when the report was sent to them:
Bill Campbell;
Jack Deats;
Kathie Mills Evans;
Sandra Deats Griffin;
Walt Hazlett;
Cornelia Buck Key;
Pam Mills Krise;
Al Mathison;
Kristin Young Packard;
Carol Button Padgett;
Debbie Hazlett Pietrzyk;
Alice Campbell Prescott;
Rhonda Watkins Roberts;
Deidre Power Smith;
Geoffry Smith
Stephen L. Smith;
Tracy Smith;
Lynn Costley Thieret;
Steve Tomlinson;
Debbie Watkins;
Barbara Larson Zaczek
In many of the above cases, the person used a work e-mail address and have left that
company; the rest presumably changed their personal Internet Service Provider. Thanks for
any help you can give in updating Campbell Cousins addresses.
Best holiday wishes to those who didn't already receive the report.

A special welcome to newly "found" cousins receiving one of one of our annual
reports for the first time.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka, Holidays, Kwanzaa, Yule and/or New Year to the descendants
of Joseph Campbell and Mary Harper of Scotland and Nelson, PA; those historically
associated with our Campbell Reunion; subscribers to our Campbells of Nelson, PA
newsletter; and their families.
My apologies to those who are both Cousins and subscribers if they receive two copies of
this message.
This was both a busy and quiet year for our Campbell Reunion.
Quiet because our scheduled, bi-annual Reunion did not take place. Pres. Leonard Hamblin
had to deal with serious illnesses of several family members, and if I understand
correctly, also moved.
Busy because we "found" or were found by a number of "new" cousins.
It's great to have heard from so many cousins for the first time -- some of whom we
weren't previously aware of. Few things excite your secretary more than hearing from
additional branches of our family tree.
Below are the 2005 vital statistics that have been reported so far. I have been assured
that we will have one in 2006. At that reunion we can decide whether to switch to even
numbered years for our reunions, or "double up" by holding a 2007 reunion and
getting back on our odd numbered year schedule.
_DEATHS_
Norma BEAVER Swan (1911 - 2005)
Robert M. Kemp (1924 - 2005)
Harold Andrew "Pete" Owlett (1923 - 2005)
_BIRTHS_
Joshua Charles French
_MARRIAGES_
Greg & Vicki Thompson
Condolences to the families of Norma, Bob and Pete. Congratulations to John & Kristy.
Best wishes to Greg & Vicki.
And big congratulations to "double cousin" Dora SEELY Church, our oldest living
cousin, for turning 100.
And welcome back to our cousins who have safely returned from Afghanistan and Iraq. We can
all agree about appreciating their efforts and courage.
Above are all the births, deaths and marriages that have been reported for this year.
Apologies to those affected for any omissions. Please advise the secretary so that we can
correct our records.
One accomplishment was publishing our family tree, titled "Campbells of Nelson, PA
& Related Blackwells & Luggs". It can be found at
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com by entering CaPaNe in the Database box and pressing
ENTER. To protect privacy, the identity of living people are filtered out, unless we have
their permission to show their name. If you have an interest in the genealogy of our
families, you may have fun wandering around in the tree. It's updated every few weeks,
but intentionally doesn't show members of the newest generations -- such as Joshua
French.
Or, you might be interested in looking at old issues of our mail list messages and/or
subscribing to it (free). Old messages can be viewed by going to
http://archiver.rootsweb.com and entering CAMPBELL-PA-NELSON as the name of the mailing
list. To subscribe and receive future mail list messages, send a message to
CAMPBELL-PA-NELSON-L-request(a)rootsweb.com with the single word subscribe as the subject
and body of the message.
THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Cousin Tom Zurflieh has scanned Will Selph's 1924 big chart of the descendants of Ann
Clinch and the (1793 - 1864) Joseph Campbell. We hope to have printed copies of those
available at the 2006 reunion and Will's later Addendum. Tom is also sending me a CD
of pictures that had been in an old album of Thomas Clinch Campbell. I should be able to
put Will's charts, Tommie's album, an album I have that was Phoebe CAMPBELL
Hoyt's, and one that was sent by Phyllis (Ann) SEELY Schultz Smouther on a web site.
We can also look forward to seeing old friends and newly found cousins at our 2006
Reunion.
Feel free to contact me to ask questions.
Best wishes to all for 2006 -- plus Peace on earth and good will to men.
