Old King Cole? Tomorrow night we are going to as seafood restaurant
with some of Mary's cousins from Wichita, so maybe I will have a merry
old sole -- I hope not too old and tough.
Today and tomorrow we are having a break and it will get up to 40 in the
afternoons, but it was, and will soon be again, in the single digits.
Only traces of snow tho. But when it's below 15 degrees, I don't go
bicycling. I was out for a ride last week tho, before the cold wave hit.
One nice thing about living in a row house is you can turn down your
thermostat and let the folks on the other sides warm you -- unless they
try the same trick. We have an unheated, uninsulated space below our
front porch, which used to be a coal bin. That's where our water pipes
come in and last year they froze -- so now I have a heat lamp on the
part before the meter and insulation on the pipe after the meter.
I really don't mind the cold. If there's too long a cold snap I take my
walks in a mall. But today I walked with my retarded client I job coach
for from his house to his workplace and back - abt. a mile each way.
And I got one in Saturday. The flu has peaked around here and so far I
have escaped.
Hope things are going well for you.
Just in case they are, I'll forward a musical pun to see if I can spoil
them.
