The following is from MyFamily Inc.'s neswletter, Ancestry Weekly Digest,

A FAMILY REUNION "TEAMWORK" ACTIVITY
At our family reunion, we covered each picnic table with white
plastic tablecloth (this plastic comes in a roll especially for such
occasions). Then we asked each "branch" of the family (sister or
brother, children of the great-great-grandparents) and their
respective families to gather at a table. The afternoon project was
to draw their family's family tree on the plastic cloth with a magic
marker. Full names, birth dates (and death dates in some instances),
marriage dates, spouses' names, and children.
We coached the "branch teams" on how their family tree should be laid
out. After the project was completed, not only did I gather up the
plastic cloths to enter the data into my computer, but also many of
the family members took photographs of the completed trees to add to
their own files.
Cousins learned how various members of their family were related. It
was a great project that everyone enjoyed having a hand in.
