I want to thank Rieta Boyden and Lesley Bannatyne for sending in their
surveys.
Someone didn't recieve the 1924 Reunion minutes. A filter along the way
deleted the message because of it was classified as naughty.
Many of you know of Treva, wife of John Hazlett; and her sister, Eva, wife
of Ed Hills; and their mother, Stella Loop, m. 2nd to Nathan Wilbur.
The problem was the last name of Eva and Treva. As many of you may know, it
was the same as that of Union general "Fiting Joe ___"; and because of the
number of camp followers while he was commander of the Union forces, his
last name became a nickname for a reportedly very old profession.
I think it will pass by the filter if I insert blanks between the letters of
Treva's maiden name. This problem will occur fairly often, because Stella,
Eva, and Treva were all active in the reunions. I knew John and Treva
Hazlett and Ed and Eva Hills, son Wm. Hills and his wife Virginia well, and
keep in touch with daughter Ann Hazlett Rogers -- so it seems particularly
funny to me -- but a nuisance. In fact last night I was just looking at a
picture of them at a picnic at my parents. John Hazlett was holding a bow
of mine, which figured in an annecdote about John that I recently told Tom
Campbell, who's father knew John also. Ask me about that bow at next year's
reunion.
Anyway, if you didn't receive the 1924 minutes, let me know and I'll send
the "expurgated" version to you.
