I received the following questions about the 1905 Reunion write-up. Please
feel free to post such questions directly to the list - many of our
subscribers are very knowlegeable and know things I don't.
I thought I would respond to the list, instead of just to the sender of the
questions, because I think many of you may be missing some of the same data,
but may be too shy to ask. I'll add numbers to the questions to help
distinguish them, and to facilitate additional comments from others if they
have additions or corrections to my answers.
1) I have as the wife of Jesse Howe, a Mary Cooley. Is this the same as the
Mary Lugg that you mention? Was she married to a Cooley first ? I had no
dates.
I ONLY HAVE ONE WIFE FOR JESSE L HOWE, MARY VERA LUGG, B. AUG 27, 1858; D.
1931. AND ONE HUSBAND FOR MARY. I DON'T HAVE ANY MARY COOLEYs. FOR MARY
LUGG'S PARENTS, I HAVE ROBT. SAMUEL LUGG (1835 - 1893) AND REBECCA A.
BOTTOM/BOTTUM (1843 - 1889). AS I MAY HAVE MENTIONED, REBECCA'S SISTER,
DOLLIE (1840 - 1920) MARRIED JOSEPH D. CAMPBELL (1839 - 1909). I DON'T HAVE
DATES FOR JESSE.
2) On the J Edward Hazlett, could you give me dates for his father and
mother,
so I can put he and Eva in the right location.
HIS PARENTS WERE JOHN HAZLETT, JR., (1823 - 1892) AND LUCY DUNHAM (1834 -
1892). EVA'S WERE GEORGE HENRY BAXTER (1824 - 1892) AND 2ND WIFE CLARISSA
MANLEY (1832 - 1895). THERE ARE SOME GREAT STORIES ABOUT ED'S
ABSENTMINDEDNESS. LUCY WROTE A MARVELOUS ACCOUNT OF THE CAMPBELLs AND
HAZLETTS' MOVE TO BEECHERS ISLAND, THE CONDITIONS OF THEIR JOURNEY, AND WHAT
THEY FIND. I'LL TYPE THAT UP AND DISTRIBUTED IT SOME DAY -- IT'S MUST
READING FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN PIONEER LIFE.
3) I had no connection for Fannie or Nancy Hazlett. Would they all be
siblings?
RIGHT. LUCY AND JOHN HAZLETT, JR. HAD 6 CHILDREN:
FRANK R. HAZLEDTT (1856 - 1934), WHO HAD A GROCERY STORE IN ELMIRA HEIGHTS,
M. EULA M. TAYLOR (1865 - 1931);
NANCY J. HAZLETT (1859 - 19xx), M. WM. PEPPER, LIVED IN NELSON;
J. EDWARD HAZLETT;
ELLA F. HAZLETT (1863 - 1890), NEVER MARRIED;
FANNIE M. HAZLETT (1867 - 1955), M. WILL MONROE (1865 - 1922), MOVED FROM
OSCEOLA TO ELMIRA IN 1901;
HERBERT H. HAZLETT (1872 - 1908), NEVER MARRIED.
3) Also, I have both the Charles Byron Luggs you mention in my database, but
no
connection between the two. Could you give me the wife and children of
Charles Byron (1791-1874)? I take it Charles Byron 1864-1938) must have been
his grandson.
RIGHT, THE YOUNGER CHAS. WAS A SON OF ROBERT AND REBECCA OF QUESTION 1. THE
ELDER CHAS. HAD 10 CHILDREN:
SARAH LUGG (1819 - 1894), M. 1ST ISAAC WHITEHEAD (1805 - 1848) & 2ND DAVID
HOYT, B. 1816;
MARY ANN LUGG (1821 - 1910), M. ALANSON HOYT (1819 - 1900)

ANTHONY WAYNE LUGG (1825 - 1897), M. ANN KEZIA SEELEY (1832 - 1915);
ELIZA LUGG (1828 - 1903), M. LOUIS LEVAN BEAVER/BEIVER (1827 - 1885);
ROBERT SAMUEL LUGG AND REBECCA BOTTOM, SEE #1;
CHARLES S. LUGG (1838 - 1853);
CAROLINE S. LUGG (1842 - 1868), 2ND OF ENOCH BLACKWELL (1814 - 1884)'S 3
WIVES, AND MOTHER OF ENOCH CHARLES BLACKWELL, A PROMINENT FIGURE IN MOST OF
THE CAMPBELL REUNIONS; AND
INFANT LUGG.
THOSE BORN BEFORE 1830, WERE BORN IN ENGLAND, THOSE AFTER, IN TIOGA CO.
4) I also have no connection for Anthony Wayne Lugg or CH Lugg.
CHAS WAS THE 4TH OF ANTHONY WAYNE'S 6 CHILDREN: WAYNE MORGAN, ANN ELIZABETH,
MORGAN SEELEY, CHAS H, CORA JANE (JOHNSON), AND ANTHONY WALDO.
