She truly was. I've always admired her and have more material (filed
away somewhere) that I can now put on our website without violating her
privacy. And her CCC letter was Volume 3, p96. (I've been tying to
intersperse putting CCC letters on our web site, with others making
posts or sharing photos on our Facebook Group, so that may be a few
weeks away or a few months away, depending on the Facebook activity of
our group's members.)
There were other remarkable, "pioneering" women in the families. Perhaps
we should create one or more pages on our web site to feature their
accomplishments. And there also are great stores about the literal
pioneer women, such as how they saved Beecher's Island from starvation
in 1817 after "The Year Without a Summer".
