I am REALLY wondering about my g-grandfather Samuel Clark Hazlett, who, we know, in late
life, was called "SAG" and resorted to be a "real" HORSETRADER!
..er...auctioneer.
My wonder-ings come from the fact that my grandma (Mayme/ Mary Agnes) was REALLY born
April 13, 1887 in Woodhull but they immediatel;y moved back to Nelson where she claimed to
be from. She always lied about her age by one year to grandfather too!!! LOL She said that
she was born in 1888!!!! She was briefly a teacher too.
Now if it were Sam's brother who was the teacher instead....(Dr) Walter---he later
became a physician of prominence. He would have been 34 yr old (in 1853)...and left
Wellsboro and took his family to Michigan!!! So ......guess who?
Bob Hazlett may have more info.

Our Owlett readers may be interested in the following, presumably about Reuben Gilmore
Close (1863 - 1939), son of Jane Owlett (1829 - 1916). "His family" at that time
was Eva Jones, m. in 1885, and 1st child, Guy Charles Close [sometimes Cloos] 1887 - 1933.

Mr. R. G. Close has gone to Keeneyville to begin cheese-making next Monday. He has moved
only a part of his home goods, as his family aret to remain in place for the present.
