I wonder if this could cause even more confusion. From what I've seen of the
genealogical community, women are usually referred to by their maiden names.
The original title does an adequate job of implying that they were married.

Subject: A Change to the Survey
One of our subscribers suggested changing the heading from "Descendants of
Joseph Campbell and Mary Harper Survey" to "Survey of Descendants of Joseph
and Mary Harper Campbell". I know we've encountered confusion. Many
descendants have never heard of Mary Harper. They had traced their ancestry
back to one of Joseph and Mary's children (Sam and Sally Campbell Hazlett,
John and Mary Campbell Hazlett, John and Elizabeth Bell Campbell, John and
Jane Campbell Hazlett, Joseph and Ann Clinch Campbell, or James and Mary
Blackwell Campbell), but not the one step farther back to Joseph and Mary.
And of course some in the family are unaware of their connection to any of
the above -- they were only aware of their grandparents and didn't know the
earlier history. So that suggestion sounds worth a try.
