Cousin Ann Lugg kindly sent me p 42-44 of "Voices from the Past",
articles from the Westfield Free Press-Courier, which contains a bio of
Cousin Dora.
A Campbell Cousin in her own right, Cousin Dora is (to the best of my
knowledge) the oldest of our living cousins at 103. And her late
husband, Louis Alfred Church (1902 - 1991) was also a Campbell Cousin.
Because of copyright restrictions, I don't want to send the bio via this
mail list, because it would then end up on the Internet in RootsWeb's
archives, like all our mail list messages.
But I can send a copy of the bio directly to any of you who request one.
RootsWeb mail lists are strictly for non-commercial purposes, so I have
to be careful about "plugging" any item that's for sale, and I have not
seen the publication itself, but based on this one bio, I would think
the entire book/booklet may contain a number of bios of interest to many
of you.
So many people have been generous with contributing their time and data
to our pool of information, that I hate to single out any one person for
recognition. The assistance of all is very much appreciated.
But Cousin Ann has been outstanding in her helpfulness, not only to
family, but to the countless others who who have asked her for help with
their genealogy or family history quests. And unlike some in the field,
she does it at her own expense and for love of the enterprise, and not
for notoriety. Her assistance is invaluable. I don't ever expect to
achieve her expertise in genealogy, nor her knowledge of the history of
Tioga Co. and it's environs.
