Anne's funeral will be held Monday.
As I told Judy, and wrote in the funeral home's guestbook, I've known
Anne all my life. In the family, she was always called by her first and
middle names --- "Anne Taylor". Both her parents were Campbell Cousins
(they were 3rd cousins) and her dad was president of the Campbell
Reunion Association. I wrote in her guest book of my boyhood memories of
her dad asking me to shoot arrows at him, and then he would catch them
in mid air. I was super impressed (and still am). Most of the relatives
that knew her have died, but her closest (genealogically) are in the
Horseheads area. Her late husband, Wrayburn "Buck" Rogers, was a
mortician and handled my mother's funeral.
Her father John "Jack" Hazlett, Sr. (1891 - 1982),was a Chemung Co.
Supervisor and a son of Eula Taylor and Frank R. Hazlett (1856 - 1934),
son of Lucy Dunham who wrote the account of the Campbell-Hazlett trek
from Stroudsburg to Nelson in 1810 and John Hazlett, Jr. (1823 - 1892),
son of John Hazlett (younger brother of Sam) and Jane Campbell (1792 -
1832), dau. of Jos. & Mary Harper Campbell.
Her mother, Treva Clarissa Hooker (1892 - 1962), was a dau. of Wm.
Hooker and Stella Ann LOOP Hooker Wilbur (1863 - 1933), dau. of James
William Loop and Maria B. Campbell (1842 - 1873), dau. of Ann Clinch &
Joseph Campbell (1793 - 1864), brother of Jane CAMPBELL Hazlett.
Much of Anne's life was spent living on the same street in Johnson City
as her aunt, Eva HOOKER Hills. Anne had no children, her only sibling,
John, Jr. never married and died in 1956
