No "new" cousins have discovered us yet because of publishing our CaPaNe
family tree on RootsWeb's World Connect pages yet - or at least they
haven't contacted us so far.
But data has been pouring in. "Cousin-in-law" Ed Bass has sent many
dates of births and marriages of Sloans we previously knew of and names,
dates and some spouses for two of the most recent generations. Many of
these data don't show in the published tree because of privacy filters,
but they are in my "real" database if people have questions. The Sloans
are descendants of our John Campbell (1781 - 1866) and Elizabeth Bell
(1785 - 1860). Ed's 7 pages of data are appreciated.
Blanchard researcher Linda Tantlinger has send some great data on some
of our Blanchard and Hazlett relatives and their collaterals. Many
thanks to her.
Linda also called my attention to the many news clippings and other
resources now available from the web site of Wellsboro's Green Free
Library. Some great stuff. The things I have looked at so far have all
been in PDF format, so an Adobe Acrobat reader is automatically invoked
to read them. For you who may not have worked a lot with PDF files,
they are images. You have to use the Zoom-in and Zoom-out buttons a lot
-- or you can just type in the degree of magnification you want. I've
been using 180%. Those with better eyes may prefer a lower figure; some
may want more magnification. More thanks Linda.
Researcher Cindy Duffek sent more data on our Cooks (Jane Campbell -
John Hazlett line). Thanks Cindy.
And Betty DAVIS Phillips has sent more data.
Apologies to any recent contributors I've overlooked. (It's beginning
to sound like an Academy Awards speech.)
I just uploaded a new version of the tree. It contains some
corrections, as well as many additions. It represents contributions
from so many family members and generous researchers over at t least 6
years. They can't be thanked enough for making this possible. And it
seems like more contribute every week.
