Glad you plan to be there. It's been too long since I've seen you and
Ron. Even longer since I've seen Kristy, and I don't recall ever meting
her kids. And even if I did, they will have changed a lot.
I don't think I can make it up to this year's Owlett reunion. Mary's
retiring July 9th, and were having a surprise party for her here at our
new house the next weekend --- and guests staying here (even tho she
doesn't know it yet). But there's a huge amount to do to the house
before then. The biggest project is rebuilding our sun room. The #@*#
home inspector missed all sorts of problems, including the toxic mold in
that room. We had to tear up the carpeting and chip board on the floor,
remove the paneling from 2 walls, plus some of the sheathing and
insulation beneath. We successfully treated the mold, and have sheet
rock up, but I plan to start taping and "mudding" it today. It will take
quite a few coats, because the stids were not even and plumb, and folks
we hired to put the sheet rock up should have put up firing strip or at
least used shims to prevent "bowing" and "valleys" at the seems. The
good news is that they did such a bad job that the contractor didn't
charge us. So, lots of coats of "mud" and lots of sanding before we can
paint. And then plywood and vinyl to put on the floor, and baseboard and
molding to hide the sawtooth effect cause by their failure to cut the
tops and bottoms of the sheet rock to adjust to the studs not being
perpendicular. There are other projects going on too, but that's the
most noticeable. My younger son is trying to help, but he's having to
work lots of overtime, is being sent to Spain and Portugal on a business
trip, and is leaving for a vacation in Yellowstone soon after he gets
back from that.
Plus there's lots to do getting ready for the Campbell Reunion. Mellisa
doesn't have much time available to help. And Lois is unfortunately no
longer with us. And before that reunion I'm having cataract surgery on
both my eyes. The doctor says I'll need new bifocals afterward to drive
and to read, so I hope I don't have to wait too long for new glasses, I
can't do much on the computer or much paperwork without glasses. I know
most folks can either drive without glasses afterword, or read without
them, but I'm told that won't be the case for me. I'm not worried about
the surgery, that's quick and safe these days. But I know one of Mary's
friend had to wait a couple of weeks before getting her new glasses. It
will be a PITA if I have to go long without being able to read or drive.
At least Mary will be retired, so she'll be able to drive me around till
I have the new glasses. But I'll be in withdrawal during the period I
can't read books or be on the computer. Especially if folks are
e-mailing me questions about the reunion.
The house will end up looking nicer than before. And I'll be seeing a
lot better, so the story will have a happy ending. But it may be pretty
challenging there.
Way to much about me. Mary's doing fine after her 2 successful
operations to fix brain aneurysms. Still a 3rd, but it's small and
they'll study it some more before deciding to operate on that one.
Hope things are fine with you and yours.

I hope you got the email invitation. I have some updates for you on the
Erway side and know I'll have more after the reunion.
