There will be a memorial service later in the spring and his ashes will
be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
His name originally was Henry Gray Thompson. But he later had it
legally changed to Henry Goodrich Thompson.
He was a son of Walter F. Thompson (1893 - 1973) and Jessica Phoebe Hoyt
(1892 - 1983) dau. of Frances V. Goodrich (1871 - 1958) and Joseph D.
Hoyt (1860 - 1903), son of William Hoyt (1832 - 1888) and Phebe Campbell
(1832 - 1916), dau. of Ann Clinch (1804 - 1872) & Joseph Campbell (11793
- 1864) son of Mary Harper (1749 - 1844) and Joseph Campbell (1748 -
1822). Those of you who have joined this mail list recently, or are
Lugg or Blackwell descendants may be interested to know that Ann
Clinch's mother was Sarah Lugg (abt 1777 - 1867), who married 1st Thomas
Clinch (? - 1805), 2nd Enoch Blackwell (abt 1777 - 1816) and 3rd to John
Campbell (1761 - 1855), uncle to her future sons-in-law, Joseph and
James Campbell.
