We have lots of central FL cousins who may have been impacted by Charley
and/or Frances. Some may still be without power. Hope all are OK and
came thru without serious damage. FL is in 3rd place for number of
living Campbell Cousins - after PA & NY.
Now some of our AL & LA cousins may get flooding from Ivan. If we have
any cousins in the FL pan handle, I'm not aware of it. Good luck to the
Bass, Louden, and Wright families (and any I've missed).
_Hazlett News Clips_
www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/newspapr/tcn6-03.htm has some Mansfield
Advertiser news clippngs for 1888 that will be of interest to many of
you. Thanks go to Elaine Frey for typing them and to Joyce Tice for
posting them.
EDDY HANDY's 2nd marriage is listed there. His 1st was to Ruth Saxbuy,
1852 in Middlebury Twp., Tioga Co., PA. Ruth's dau., Eudora Armenta
Handy, b. 1861 first m. Geo. W. Hazlett (1859 - 1937) in 1881.
Apparently it was the first of 2 for her, the first of 3 for him.
George was a grandson of Archibald, below (via David).
ARCHIBALD H. HAZLETT (1803 - 1888)'s death is listed. However the paper
has it a week before the death date from the family bible, as reported
by Carolyn SMART Mack. A lot of family bible entries apparently were
made from memory and can't always be relied on to be precise. Lots of
you are his descendants and know his story, but for the others he was a
son of Samuel Hazlett and Sarah "Sally" Campbell. I'm puzzled by the
reference to a brother George. I have lots of Geo. Hazletts, but none
as his brother. "Dr. Hazlett" is Chas. Walter Hazlett (1854 - 1916),
son of Samuel C. Hazlett (1830 - 1861).
FRANK R. HAZLETT (1856 - 1934), was a son of John Hazlett, Jr. (1823 -
1892), who was a son of John Hazlett and Jane Campbell (1792 - 1832).
According to the tombstone and one of Frank's granddaughters, the bride
was "Eula", not "Ella". You can't believe everything you read in
the
newspapers (even without transcription).
SAMUEL HAZLETT (1816 - 1888) was an uncle of Frank R.
I imagine our many Hazlett subscribers will be happy to handle your
question.
