I just became aware of the death of Mike Stefura (1919 - 2004).
Condonlences to his family.
As I send out the "snail mail" version of the 2005 Campbell Reunion
Association Report I try to verify to see that addresses are current.
And especailly if there has been an address change, check for a death
record.
Sending out the e-mail versions was easy. The US Postal Service version
takes longer. In additon to validating addresses and addressing the
envelope, I try to customize each letter by individualizing the "Dear
.." salutation and adding a note at the end relevant to that individual
(or family). Unless I know they are a genealogy wonk, I also include a
"chain" of their parents, grandparents, etc. back to Joseph and Mary
Harper Campbell, with dates for each Campbell Cousin ancestor. So far
I've sent 84 of those. I'm going thru my address list by state and ZIP
code and have gotten as far as NY 14823. Hoping to get as many out
today and tomorrow as I can while it's still 37 cents. Have to be true
to those Scottish genes and thrifty forever!
