OK. -- here's a condensed version.
Joseph Campbell (1748 - 1822) and Mary Harper (1749 - 1844).
6th or their 8 children was Joseph Campbell (1793 - 1864) m. Ann Clinch
(1804 - 1872).
Eldest of their 12 children was Wm. Campbell (1822 - 1875) m. Helen
Elizabeth Peasly/Peasley (1826 - 1876).
2nd of their 5 was Kate Ardell Campbell (1853 - 1943) m. Elisha "Lish"
Shore Horton (1842 - 1932)
Their 4 children were:
Frank Grant Horton (1872 - 1961) m. Frances Montgomery Blake & Florence
Ramar;
Helen "Nellie" Campbell Horton (1874 - 1965) m. Zeno Clark Kimball;
Dr. Harry John Horton (1878 - ?) m. Helen Hamilton; &
Arthur Elisha Horton (1885 - ?) m. Grace S. Sharp.
There are some living members of the next generation of Hortons,
including one of our two remaining CCC letter writers, Faith Jean
KIMBALL Black.
We have full dates and places for many of the above births, deaths and
marriages -- and names for many of the parents of spouses.
But unfortunately we still do not know where in Scotland our
Campbell/Harper ancestors born and married.
My current best guess -- and it is only a guess -- is Ayrshire. That's
not far from the Hazlett's reported stomping grounds. REMEMBER, they
could have belonged to the Campbell of Argyll Clan and lived anywhere in
the United Kingdom (or anywhere in the world). And any of you, with or
without Scottish ancestry can join the Campbell of Argyll clan by
applying and agreeing to recognize the Duke of Argyll as head of the clan..
