Some of you might be interested in a reply I received from Sam Leonard
to a posting on a Message Board for Chenango Co., NY. You can see it,
and the attached photo at
http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DUB.2ACI/40.1.1
Sam made a typo and immediately corrected it with a follow up posting.
My reply to Sam might also interest some of you. In addition to
LEONARDs and YOUNGs, it mentions BEIVER/BEAVERs, BUCKBEEs, BUTLERs.
GEEs, HALLs, HAZLETTs, OWLETTs, PRESTONs, SWANs, and THOMASes.
Unfortunately, the quality of the data varies, and some is inconsistent,
so as usual, take it as a starting point and verify it yourself, or
inquire about the sources.
Don't know about the rest of you, but I find the kind of family
interweaving it illustrates very interesting. Marylyn has some more
graphic terminology than 'interweaving', but I like the image of strands
joining and separating. Like a tapestry of our history.
If you have questions or comments on any of the people mentioned in my
reply to Sam, feel free to post them to our mail list.
