I just heard from Sharon TOMB Hatcher and her mother, Jeanne. They have
reserved the Town of Nelson's pavilion at the North-West end of
Cowanesque Lake, near the Nelson post office, for Saturday, Aug 9, 2008
as the time and location of our next Campbell Reunion.
Thanks Sharon & Jeanne. That's the most advance notice we've ever had,
so there's lots of opportunity to spread the word and have our biggest
turnout ever. Well, the biggest of our reunions this century anyway.
In the 1st World War era those reunions sometimes had over 250
attendees. We may not beat that mark -- but it's not impossible. There
are many more descendants of Joseph and Mary Harper Campbell than ever.
And with our Blackwell and Lugg cousins included, the potential number
of attendees is huge --- if we can locate them.
Please help spread the word and help locate "lost" relatives. The
sooner people can make travel plans for next year the better.
We have lots of time to plan. So regardless of whether or not our next
reunion is the biggest, let's make it the best yet! We'll hope for good
weather, but we've always managed to have a good time -- rain or shine;
hot or cold. Fortunately it's a big pavilion, so there will be more
shelter than for previous years.
Your suggestions about how to do that are welcome.
