Finally, the World Connect section of Rootsweb is back up and more or
less like it used to be before the update.
For those do are not familiar with WC, it is a section of Rootsweb where
one can upload their family tree and hopefully will find long lost
cousins and maybe, just maybe, get a mystery or two on your family tree
solved.
I have had my tree on Rootsweb for many years, almost 20, I think, and
it can be found here:
https://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=nymets
I uploaded it from my Family Tree Maker tree. For living people in the
tree, like me, it just says 'living people' without birth data. For
example:
https://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=nymets&id=I0001
These trees maybe able to help you with your research. You can search
surnames and trees here:
https://wcbeta.rootsweb.com/?fbclid=IwAR2XW35G-vJ4aAfs9vw5w70z2ZJWbKYestA...
If you put up your own tree, others may contact you. I have been
contacted many times by unknown cousins, a couple from Australia, and
together we were able solve some of our mysteries.
If you have any questions on how to find or navigate around this new
updated addition to Rootsweb, please ask your questions on the list
because others probably have the same questions plus there are others on
our list who may know more about WC than I do.
