Hilary and all, perhaps the following might connect to someone else -
Mary Campbell supposedly is the daughter of Hugh and Jane Campbell but the
marriage of Hugh and Jane did not take place in Ireland. From within the
family Hugh and Jane both died in Ireland. We have no dates. I believe the
records office told me there were quite a few couples with these names and I had
no way to differentiate.
Hugh and Jane had Mary who married William McElroy - marriage unfound. Mary
and William had Margaret or Corboe, Rose Ann who the records office cannot
find, John in 1865 in Cranny, Michael in 1867 in Corboe, Anna Jane in 1870 in
Corboe and we were given an unnamed McElroy child born in 1873 in Raveagh -
all of these places in Clogher.
Back to Hugh and Jane, from within the family Hugh and Jane also had two
other daughters who emigrated to New England, USA and married gentlemen named
Corrigan - it is unknown if the Corrigan lads were brothers.
Margaret McElroy married a Lawless and remained in Ireland, though their
children emigrated to the States and Canada. Both Anna Jane and Rose Ann came
to New York City where they married and raised their families. Of Michael we
know nothing.
Aside from the information from within the family, the date and townland
information is from the records office and they assured me they had given me all
that was available.
While I thank you for your offer to look around, I don't want to have you
using your time if you feel the records office info is all that would be
available. It's as far as I could get from here in the States.
Best wishes, Donna
