I'm searching for any family connections to SAMUEL CAMPBELL, b. Jan 1822, Ballynure,
Co.
Antrim, Ireland (Barony of lower Belfast). (this is my gg-grandfather).
Samuel Campbell was working in southern Scotland in when he married AGNES EARL, in
Neilston, Renfrewshire, Scotland, 29 Jan. 1841. Agnes was b. in Scotland. Samuel and
Agnes joined the Mormon church in Nov. 1843, Glasgow, Scotland.
My g-grandmother, MARY ANN CAMPBELL, was born in May 1844, in Belfast, Ireland. Her next
two siblings, SAMUEL CAMPBELL, Jr., and ELIZABETH CAMPBELL were born in Scotland. It was
thought that Samuel worked in the mines south of Glasgow. Mary Ann Campbell m. John Sears
in Neb., in 1860, and they later moved to Holt Co., MO, then to Mitchell Co., Kansas.
In 1849 Samuel Campbell took his family on the ship Pennell to America, landing at the
Port of New Orleans. I don't find them again till the 1860 census in Nebraska City,
Otoe
Co., Neb. He had a farm there, and later family members said he never left that County.
In 1863 he and other family members joined with the RLDS Church in Otoe Co., NE.
If anyone has information about Campbell's in Ballynure, or can connect to this Samuel
Campbell, please let me know.
