It's been a while since there have been messages posted to this list, so
in the interest of the New Year of 2005, lets all post out Campbells and
see if we can help each other with our genealogy. I'll start...
George Campbell b ca 1850, Derrylard, County Armagh
parents: George Campbell, Mary Todd
emigrated to: Troy NY ca 1870-75
married: Bridget Flynn
It is interesting how I found where my George (ggrandfather) was born.
He was my brickwall. Well, I posted a family tree on World Connect
(Rootsweb) and just before Christmas, I recieved an email from a 2nd
cousin I did even know existed. He had the information on the family.
Seems like there is a family bible plus and aunt who did the Campbell
genealogy and had gone to Ireland years ago to visit the family
homestead. So, within minutes I has some basic information that I have
been spending the last 10-15 years looking for....
Also in 2004, I was contacted by two Flynn 2nd cousins who saw a message
I had posted four years ago on the Rootsweb Message Boards. They, too,
were able to help me fill in gaps in Flynn side of my family tree.
So I guess the object of this email is, other than giving my Campbell
information and starting a roll call, is to urge you all to put your
information in various forms on bulletin/message boards and use the free
World Connect....you just never know who will contact you and your brick
wall will collapse.
