look in the USGEN project for Iowa, they have some free information available there. I
found many clues there, that took me to the right places. Course I had two other people
looking and didn't know it. My campbell married an Ellison, from Iowa as well, however
I think maybe the only way to know for sure is looking for marriage records, death
records, tax records, agriculture records, census costs money except for the 1880 it is
free.
To locate Iowa Gen project just type in a search engine "Iowa USGEN project and it
will give you a list, pick the one that says USGEN and it will take you to a place to pick
a state.
good luck.

your web page is very impressive. I need to do something like that.
maybe this summer. what software are you using? We are Campbells,
too. Left Ireland (Antrim, Ballymoney) about 1830 to Canada. Ended up
in Ottawa just north of Lake Erie. I am trying to find ship lists that
might give more information because probably they came with other
Campbells. Probably landed in Quebec. Charles Campbell family. I am
looking for more info on them in ireland. Charles married Margaret
Lamont. they had some children in Ireland and then left. I know there
must be more records of them in Ireland but haven't been able to find
them. Also don't understand much about Canada research either. We do
know where Charles and Margaret are buried. Our line immigrated to
Iowa, US, but other siblings stayed in Canada. Any help or direction
appreciated. Also trying to find a way to trace the Campbells back to
Scotland, but this seems very difficult as there were so many
Campbells. Sure we are related someway.
