Have you tried Find my Past,they have the British Nationals Armed forces Overseas marriage
records 1796 to 2005.You could buy just enough credits to search the records to see if he
was married overseas.

information. He was married to Mara Paton(Mary)
He returned to ireland leaving His family in Canada.Where he died
They came from Clones Monaghan origionally
I have been unable to find any information on his wife or birth
information for the birth of his sons
