Here is the information I know, your file helped me connect my lines to
the older established lines. SAmuel Camp was the son of Hezekiah
Camp, he was born in 1744-1813, He was married to Hannah Guernsey
(1743-1777) One of their children was Samuel Abiel Camp. You can find
Samuel Abiel in the 1790 census as Reverend Samuel A. Camp. If you read
one of the accounts of early marriages in Connecticut (they were all
living in the Milford or Ridgefield area) you will see that they list
Samuel Camp as a minister from 1860-1804 He also recorded a number
ofmarriages especially among Samuel CAmps and other. It is improbable
that Samuel A would have been the minister for all that time--maybe they
both were?
Samuel A. (1771-1809) married Lemira Wilson (1775-?) prior to 1791. While
this record shows her from Ridgefield, she also seems to be from Saratoga
New York andher family came from Vermont. His youngest son Herman was
born in 1807 SAmuel A died in 1809. At that point his widow took the
kids to SAratoga for a while and then settled in Chatuagua County, New
York. In Chatuagua, his 8 children were raised and married
Anna CAmp (1794) m. willam LaGrys
Merlin (1796) married Saloma Rockwell in 1827
Hannah (1792) married William Miller WAgoner (their son was Merlin
WAgoner)
Milo (1798) married Sarah Northrop they had Abner, Elizabeth, Henry,
Merlin and Milo. Milo died in Minnesota
John (1800) married Abigal Simmons they had John, Wilson, and Herman
Samuel (1804) moved to Michigan--his son O.S, served as governor or
something.
Abner (1805-1863) had a son John (1837)
Herman 1807- 1877 married Roxanna Carpernter prior to 1831 They had 4
kids
Lemira (1834) married someone named Harrington who was a postmaster in
Iowa before he moved he children to St Joseph, Mo. Lemira had died before
1877.
Catherine 1836, moved to Boston then married someone named McCabe who
wrote at least one song--we have the registration paper.
Samuel (1837)
and Cyrus Carpenter (1838-1903)
Herman and his brother Abner were involved in several businesses. he
patented his inventions in candlemaking, he was visited by Garibaldi in
order for him to learn about his system. He also dabbled in the oil
business By his death, he was living in Rouseville, PA. His will lists a
wife as CAroline (family heirlooms list it as Caroline Carpenter) she
also died in 1877.
by 1877 (Herman's death) only CC was alive and the only ones who had
children were Lemira and CC.
CC graduated from Hamilton College in 1858, and then gat a law degree from
Albany College. After passing his tests, he moved to Troy, Kansas where
he distinguished himself in local and state politics. He married Ellen
Virginia Zimmerman in 1862. The family business in New York and PA caused
him to return to the area in 1869. CC and Ellen had four children, Ella
(Sykes), Herman, Wilson Carpenter, Anna Lemira (Patton) and Cyrus
Zimmerman (1879-1943) (born in Sinclairville, NY).
He moved his family back to Kansas in 1890 where he worked in banking and
wrote a great deal. He died in 1903 in Ada, OK at the home of his
daughter.
Cyrus Zimmerman married Mamie Esther Harter in 1909, in Kansas They had
two
children Cyrus Harter CAmp 1911-1988, and Donald James CAmp (1914-1979)
in Garden City, Kansas.
He and Mamie were divorced in 1920--he remarried someone named Anna and
died in Kansas City, Mo.
Cyrus Harter changed his name to Harter Price after his mother married
Everett Price. By the time that CZ died in 1943--there were no other
children or grandchildren of CC alive.
Donald James Camp married Esther Elizabeth Ryan in 1945 in Renton,
Washinton. Donald was in the Air Force so they lived in many states. He
died in Tucson, Arizona.. They had two
children Julie Patricia and Jeffrey Alan. Julie and Peter Adamcin have
two children--Mark and Amy Adamcin.(1986, 1989)
I am looking for information about Lemira Harrington's Children and the
status of Herman's marriage to either Roxanna or Caroline.

Thank you for your Camp family information, and I am posting your
request to
the Camp mail list in hopes that someone will be able to help. It would help
more if you could tell us when and where your grandfather was born, married,
etc. That would help narrow the search down.
