Jim - are you related to these Camps? So am I! Welcome to the "family" . I
did get some information on them from the new LDS web site:
www.familysearch.com
most of it seems reliable - but there are a few weird things once you really
start looking at the documentation. Things like people born, dying, then
being married a few years later. Huh????? I have order a book called "GREER
FAMILY BRANCHES THAT GOT TO GEORGIA" BY JULIAN A. GREER (now deceased).
Talked to his widow and she was sending out the book to me at a proce of
$40.00. This book chronicles the migration of two major families - the
Greers and the Camps - (of which I am related to both).
Am waiting patiently (not really) for it (its been 2 weeks). It is supposed
to have great text and pictures. Do you have a decendent name from Icabod
Camp? His gr gr gr gr granddaughter was quite a woman (she was my gr gr
grandmother) Catherine Ellen Camp Greer. Was friends with Lincoln and
Buffalo Bill and when she passed away then President US Grant presided at her
funeral. Pretty cool huh. Let me know your line and I can help you in any
way I can. on the LDS site use the name William Washington Camp (Katherine's
Father) for your first inquiry and go back from there.
