Dear Malcolm,
I am sorry not to have responded sooner to your message. I don't
know if the following information is of any relevance, but in my copy of
the IGI for Hertfordshire Camp family members I found four references
to Abraham Camp. Bear in mind that there are also extensive branches of
the Camp family in Essex, Norfolk and Derbyshire, as well as
St.Pancras,Middlesex in the 19th/20th Century!
The nearest "possible" Abraham identified to yours is
Abraham son of Thomas Camp/Margaret, Baptised 3rd June 1771 at
Hertford, All Saints and St.John.
There are also listed Abraham Camp son of Nathaniel Camp baptised 25th
Sept.1614 at Hunsdon, and Abraham Campe son of Thomas Campe baptised 5th
March 1616 also at Hunsdon. There is also a record of an Abraham Camp
marrying Mary Parker on 24th April 1764 at St. Pauls Walden,
Hertfordshire.
Among my notes I have a record of a Will at Herts FHS dated 1764 for an
Abraham Camp, Farmer, from Whitwell, St.Pauls Walden Ref.No.12 AR
373/202 AW3
The Family History Centre at Hertford have fairly comprehensive records
from Parishes, as well as Wills, Transportation orders and Poor Law
records. There is a booklet called "Transported Beyond the Seas"
published by the Herts Family History Society, which they also hold at
the Family Record Centre, which lists those people transported from
Herts. to Australia and elsewhere.
You can contact the Family History Centre by e-mail on-
: hals(a)hertscc.gov.uk or on the "web" at
http://hertslib.hertscc.gov.uk
Of course none of this may have any relevance to your researces - but it
may give you a lead or two.
Good luck. Sheila

I am relatively new to this list but after watching for a while I
have
decided to jump in the deep end.
I am looking for some information on Abraham Camp born some time about
1770 in England. He was sent out to Australia as a convict in the
1790's. He married an Elizabeth Cox who was also a convict on 14 Nov
1796 at Parramatta NSW.
Any information regarding his birth date, trial or family would be
greatly appreciated.
My thanks in anticipation of the answers
Regards
Malcolm
