just to let you know that I have verified some of my "family
stories."
Sarah Jane Camp was born at Mission San Jose, in San Antonio, because
there was a midwife there. LB & Nancy Camp, her parents, lived on a ranch
in Wilson County...not to far from the Missions in Bexar County. This
was told to me by a newly round cousin, Camp Gilliam. He also said that
John LafayetteCamp was buried in Dignowity Cemetery here in San
antonio..I will go look asap. The plantation in Alabama was the Elyton
plantation...owned by John Lay Camp b 1801 in Winder Ga. area married to
Elizabeth Brown. He was the son of William Camp & Elizabeth Reeves, &
William was the son of John Camp & Mary Tarpley. Elyton Plantation was
in Jefferson Co Al. North Birmingham area, I would like to hear any
info about this site. thanks...Carolyn
