Williams Washington Camp Joined the Mormon Church and is buried in Salt
Lake. LDS Church records list his birthdate as dec 11, 1800. His father
Cecillius was born Nov 25, 1779 in Amherst, VA Died in 1824 in Warren
County, GA , this father Samuel or Durham was born May 14, 1752 in Durham,
Middlesex Connecticut, was married to Mary Banks on Nov 17, 1776 in
Amherst, VA, and died in Warren County, GA Aug 18, 1827. There is a direct
line back to John Camp in Connecticut and then to Essex, England. You can
follow this trail on the church's free website at
www.familysearch.org.
the line is traced back to the late 1400's but it looks promising to take
it back further. As you recall, I also am a decendent of Williams
Washington Camp through his wife Amelia Evans. My greatgrandfather was
Williams Peter Camp born 1857 in Salt Lake. He had 2 sons, Williams Peter
Jr. and Alvin Morse Camp who was named for a missionary companion. Alvin
Morse Camp had 2 sons, Alvin Marion Camp(my dad) and William Peter Camp and
5 daughters. Alvin Marion Camp had 3 sons, William Grant Camp, Alvin
Marvin Camp (me) and Marlo Paul Camp and a daughter, Valli L. Camp.
