I have 2 photos of my grandmother, Sarah Helena LaRosse (née Camp Feb
1871) of Heard Co. GA. Though I have been watching this list for some
time, I haven't seen anything that really links up. The research I have
was done by my cousin. She is a retired school teacher and I trust her
work completely. Still the court house burned and that is a somewhat
limiting factor. The name Martha Jane Duke is interesting as my aunt's
maiden name was Martha Duke LaRosse. My ggf's name was John Franklin,
and there is even a Seaborn, though that name does not appear to be so
uncommon as I had originally anticipated and it is in the Adamson line
anyway.
Will try to remember to send photo from the other computer as I haven't
figured out how to do it from Juno.

Dear List,
Jackie Camp's line is through her husband, Raymond E. CAMP. His
father was John Thomas CAMP Jr., brother to my grandfather, William
Robert CAMP. THEIR father was John Thomas CAMP, married to Martha
Jane DUKE. The line then goes: James Seaborn, John, James, John
(married to Mary Tarpley), Thomas III.
Jackie has been a tireless, conscientious and thorough amateur
genealogist
for many years. She is still active in genealogy, as is her
daughter-in-
law. I haven't heard from them in a few months, and I don't know if
they subscribe to this list, thus my butting in. She has spent
countless
hours and untold amounts of money to chase our elusive ancestors.
She deserves a great round of applause and a lot of "atta girls" for
all of her work. She is incredibly generous in sharing her work,
too.
One thing I do know about Jackie, if she says something is true, she
has the documentation. She got me "hooked" on genealogy eighteen
years
ago. Unfortunately, it was difficult for me to keep at it, due to
my four children being babies at the time and we've lost touch over
the
years.
Jackie has a great photograph of John Thomas CAMP and Martha Jane
DUKE.
I have been trying to track down another copy, said to be in the
possession
of one of their other descendants with no luck. I have a Xerox copy
of
it, but don't know how well it would scan.
If ANYONE has any photos of any GA. CAMPs, I'd love to hear from you
and
would be more than happy to pay for any costs incurred so that we
may send
them to Larry.
Are you there, Jackie, I'd love to hear from you!
Carole
