Okay,
I am getting really confused.... I am descended from the John Camp (son of
Thomas and Winnifred Starling Camp) who married Mary Tarpley through their
son James Camp. I was not aware that this John was married to anyone other
than Mary Tarpley. There is considerable debate regarding the wife (wives)
of James Camp, but I didn't know that there was any dispute with John.
Would someone please enlighten me?
Thanks,
Carole

John Camp married Elizabeth Wall, widow Sims on Feb 27, 1782 in
Greenville
County, Virginia. He is not the John Camp who died and left the will in
Mecklenburg Co. He might be the grandson mentioned in the will. John and
Elizabeth's son, John Hamlin Camp was born Jan 27, 1783 in Brunswick
County
Virginia. They also had a son named James Wall Camp and possibly
others.
Elizabeth died before 1802 and John moved to Tennessee, where he died in
1820.
