Hi Susan,
Enjoyed your email. I am also descended from the Edward, John,
Ichabod, Samuel line of Camps. My ancester is Claudesley's brother,
Cecillus, who lived in Georgia and is buried there. I don't know a lot about
Claudesley or the lives of Samuel, Ichabod, John, or Edward.
I would enjoy anything you might have on those people. I went to Kaskaskia,
Illinois as part of my vacation last year to visit the place
where Ichabod died. Kaskaskia had a few floods, and the original place is
under water now, and several graves were moved from several
cemeteries. There were a lot of "unknowns," and a monument to all
those whose graves weren't marked or were unable to be moved. I never did
find a separate grave for Ichabod. I understand that Samuel
served in the Revolutionary War as a quartermaster. I would be glad to
exchange what info I have with you. You can email me privately at

Best wishes,
Val (Camp) McCown
