Subject: Re: [CAMP] Camp family Minnesota and Wisconsin
I found a possible marriage record for George Camp -- 28 May 1885 in
Ashland Co., WI. There was no wife listed in the index record, and no
female listed as married on the same day in the same county.
There are birth certificates for some of the children. My grandfather
has a pre-1907 Wisconsin birth certificate, but I don't remember if it
lists his mother's maiden name. It would be hard for me to get to right
now, so I can't check it.
I found these George Camp/Kemps in the census:
1860 Camp b. 1858 MN Woodville, Waseca Co., MN, apparently son of
Moses Camp 41 b. VT and Jane Camp 36, b. PA
(some siblings b. OH, WI, and MN)
1870 Camp b. 1857 WI Sevastopol, Door, Wisconsin, apparently son
of Domnick Camp 44 b. Luxembourg and Catherine Camp 35 b WI
1880 Camp b. 1858 MN Waupun, Dodge, Wisconsin, prisoner, father b.
OH, mother b. NY
Nothing seems to match exactly, but some are close enough to be possible.
You could get a copy of the marriage record and one of the birth
certificates.
