A few years ago I spent a day in Durham at the town hall. The asst clerk
provided me with a wealth of material. I was able to purchase for $25 [I think]
"History of Durham, CT, from the first land grant of land in 1662 to 1866" by
Fowler. It contains the vital stats as recorded by the first three ministers and
there are a slew of Camps included. Someone took the time to extract each name
and record them by surname. There are 4 pages of Camps on it. As y'all have
been tossing things back and forth the last couple of weeks I've been taking a
look at it. Some of the data is there. I could/would do lookups if it would
help. Better yet, go to Durham and go thru the records. There are scads of deeds
as well. I'm assuming everyone has a copy of Abbott's "Families of Early
Milford" as well as the best ref. I've found:"The ancestry of WFJ
Boardman".
Sorting out the Edward Camp line from the Nicholas Camp line gets pretty hairy, but
these two help. My line down from Thomas to Edward goes then to Edward, John,
Abraham, Moses, Abraham & Martha who married a Mahan. Glad to see the NE
Camps are getting active. tired of all the southern branches!!!
