Elaine,
Thank you for the note. I'm still very excited about the CAMP Family
Bible (1883) of Milton and Lydia Ann (Hazel) CAMP, and the family history it
tells, as well as the flowers that are pressed inside it, and the cutouts
that have been used as book marks. There's even a peice of material that was
used as a bookmark. Best yet, is to know, that my great-great grandmother
had it in her hands.
Just so very glad I can share my CAMP line,
Tobi L. in Washington

Subject: [CAMP-L] Camp Family Bible, 1883
Hello to all the Camp relatives,
Today is one of the best day in my family research! My mother decided
that I have the CAMP Family Bible! She's been telling me for years that
it
has no names in it. I've seen it before, and couldn't find
anything in
it,
until today (wasn't digging hard enough, that's apparent)!
The pages after the Old Testament, and before the New Testament have
the
following names and dates. These pages included the Birth Records
and
Death
Records on separate pages, but I'll put them together for you
here. This
CAMP family is originally from Iowa, and some relocated to North Dakota.
The HOLY BIBLE containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated out
of
The Original Tongues; and with The Former Translations Diligently
Compared
and Revised. New York: American Bible Society. Instituted In The
Year
MDCCCXVI,
(Nonpareil, 12mo.) 1883.
*Milton H. Camp was born the 20 day of April in the year 1832 at 8
o'clock
Milton H. Camp Died June 12 - 1891 age 59 17 days
*Lydia A. Camp borne October 16, - 1837 (N) (death not in bible
but known to be Aug. 2, 1924)
John M. Camp born Dec 24th 1874 (death not in bible, I don't have
confirmation on 1945 yet. Confirmation on birth & marriage in Hesper,
Iowa)
(Note not in bible: John m. Lizzie (Elizabeth) Schmelzly, Nov. 10,
1896)
Letha L. Camp born Nov. 13th - 1877
Letha L. Camp - McClintock d. April 21 - 1936
(Note not in bible: Children: Dessie & Charles, both males)
W.H. Camp was born Jan. 6-1879 (death not in bible)
Ada A. Camp b. June 20 - 1866
Ada A. Camp d. Oct. 11, 1935
Charles J. Camp was born Dec. 14 - 1862
Charles J. Camp d. Aug 10 - 1926 (Note not in bible: Charlie Jacob
Camp m. Estella "Stella" Catherine Haines)
David D. Camp born July 15 - 1859 (Note not in bible: David
Camp
m.
1) Mary Paulson & 2) Mattie ?)
David D. Camp d. June 1923
* This would be my great-great grandparents! John Milton Camp is my
great-grandfather.
Can you tell I'm excited about finding the dates and names that I
hadn't
had before? I won't describe how I had the family tree up until
today!
:::horrors::::
Anyone having comments, or suggestions on furthering this CAMP
research,
I'd be much grateful (handle constructive criticism very well).
And of
course, if your related through this line, I'd love to hear from you!
Best of luck in your searches too,
Tobi
